Side effects are secondary, unexpected effects of a medication, like a dry mouth or runny nose that some people may experience using it but others may not.
Indications are the reasons you should take a medication, or what symptoms or disease it is intended to relieve or treat.
Contraindications are reasons you should NOT take a particular medication. For example you may already be taking a medicine that may be harmful if used with another, so the other medication is contraindicated in that case.
Some medications, like tranquillizers are contraindicated (or not advised) if the person has consumed alcohol.

A contraindication is something that prohibits the use of a medicine for a certain person. If someone had a bleeding disorder then the use of aspirin would be contraindicated because it could cause uncontrollable bleeding,

A side effect is a direct result of taking that medicine - i.e. hair loss during chemotherapy.
A contraindication is a warning not to use the product in certain patient groups i.e. contraceptive pills cannot be given to a pregnant woman.

Side effect is after effect of a medicine for which some adverse effect occur on tissue, organ or system. Like due to some medicine hair loss may occur.
Contra indication is due to effect of medicine some unwanted disease or symptom of dieses shown during the line of treatment. Like due to antibiotic diarrhea may occur.

Contraindication- condition or reason that someone should not recieve the medicine or treatment. reason could be because of a previous condition or because they are already taking a medicine which will react with the med. prescribed.

Side effects are things that can happen to you while taking the medication, like dizziness, nausea, weight gain, etc.
The other, if you mean what I think, is when two or more medications taken at the same time can have adverse effects...I've heard of people dying because they shouldn't have taken a certain medication with one already being used.

side effect means something that could happen to u because u r taking a medication, which is aggravating, but not lifethreatening. contra indication means something that will probably happen to u, which is life threatening because of taking the medication.
