That doesn't quite equate. God is meant to exist because The Bible backs up the claim, in that way then yes, you could use the same logic to say that wizards and schools for wizards exist because it's well documented in a work of fiction, just like The Bible.
To be perfectly honest, I'd much rather believe in Hogwarts than Heaven.

In College, I took a humanities class and my teacher brought in things that showed us that the Bible is real. We also saw National Geographic videos that actually showed the tablets of things that were rewritten in the Bible. The Bible is actually a history book. Even if you are not christian you cannot deny that Christ ever lived because he did. The Bible is real and so is God. Harry Potter is the figment of someone's imagination. The Bible is real and if we still lived by the Bible it would be different in this country today, but if we lived by Harry Potter books...? Come on now. Do some research and you will see. Be Blessed!

Harry Potter, 6 books. God, 1 book. Sounds like Potter wins the reality race.

and because the "through the looking glass" book exists, there must be a wonderful topsy turvey land where cats can disappear, bunnies run around with clocks, and two gentleman obsessed with hats throw parties for their likewise tea obsession.
i'm just kidding. In all honesty, the bible really proves nothing to me...but that might just be because i'm a muslim. It is, in fact, a history book...but we have science to disregard that now and the fact that it shows that people like jesus christ and the apostles existed doesn't necessarly mean that god exists too.
Unfourtanitly...this logic doesn't quite work in this situation. Just as the transitive property has its flaws (I like Stu, Stu likes stew, so I like stew??) the book comparison doesn't quite work.. however..
next time you speak about the number one best selling book of all time, watch out.. the bible just might be gettin some competition with my good friend mr. potter.

Go to Bibleevidence.com The Bible is real, Harry Potter is fictional. Yes , not ALL of the Bible is to be taken literally, some are stories told to teach us lessons, but certainly it has much reason to believe in it.

You have life from a source of life. A book has no life from a (creation) human being, because he can't give life. So therefore, all made by a human are lifeless. So, those places, events and people are not true but a fruit of imagination. Logic has basis, you don't apply the same logic with other things because they might have different situation and basis.

And I'll bet that someday when you're old enough for your first teeth to start being replaced, you'll put each one under your pillow and find the reward from the tooth fairy in place the following morning.
Ain't that logical?
Or, wait a minute, no - I'm no more logical than you are, huh?
Buy a dictionary and read it cover to cover.
It might help you figure things out, or if you're too far gone, see a shrink.

Yes you could use that same logic. You can also use the same line of reasoning when someone says that God has always existed (that no one created him). You can then say that the Universe has always existed and there is no God.
