There is a pill available from pharmacies in India called Vasograine. It is a combination drug of ergotand paracetamol and it works well for me. The best way however is prevention, 1. Do not get overly excited during the day, spend some time winding down every night and have the optimum no. of hours of sleep. Make sure that you are always well aerated i.e. lots of aerobic exercise and sleep in a well ventilated room (inlcuding not covering your head - you need to breathe properly) which is not too cold (coldness constrict blood vessels and cause the extremities to lack oxygen). If you have sinusities and post nasal drip problem get them sorted out. Both cause constriction of airways leading to again lack of aeration. So long as you are properly and well aerated including ensuring the blood circulates well (temperature, pressure, food are all factors here) you should have no problem.

I've suffered migraine for the last 12 years, and have tried various remedies and experimental medicines, few of which worked.

The best medication I found (and I found it in desperation) was called Voltarol (my wife uses it for her period pains). It's almost instant, in comparison with Ibuprofen or paracetamol.

Another relief is massage. If you use your thumb and forefinger to massage the corners of your eyes (e.g. as close to the socket as you can without actually poking your eyes out!), usually by the base of the bridge of your nose, I find that brings temporary relief. If you have enough time and a quiet relaxed environment, you can eventually massage the pain away completely.

i don't actually suffer from migraine, i could be wrong but ... i was wondering if pulling your hair is a good idea? look, if you pull your hair, you can feel pain, that pain will neuralize the pain you're suffering from migraine ... maybe it doesn't relieve at all but i'm sure it reduces the pain ... it's weird though!

Find a dark and quiet place to rest. Take some motrin. Go to sleep. That's all I have ever found that works.

See a neurologist - they can write a prescription. Imitrex is a good prescription medicine that always works in about 30 minutes for me....otherwise it can go on for days.
