I had the same problem. My daughter was brought up around her cousins and was always around me and my friends. When i noticed her problems with socializing in school I started putting her in other things where she has to interact with other children. Right now I have her in sports all year round and I have noticed a big change in her socializing skills. I think that the fact that she is meeting more kids other than family and meeting new people helps.

If she is at the stage where she is copying or going through the 'mimic' stage try role playing games with her, things like playing at being school kids, or something, its a trick my mother used with my sister when we were young as she did the same thing, it could be that your daughter is shy or not as developed as other kids yet, and has not yet understood that the interaction is an important part of life, thats ok though, give her time, all kids learn at different levels.....it doesnt make one any better than another.
I really think she would benefit from role playing type games though, give it a shot what have you got to lose. :D good luck.

3 years old? Class? Give me a break your kid is still a baby. CLASS? NOT listening, BUT she imitates her teacher? Well I gotta tell ya something. If SHE imitates her teacher, she is listening. BUT my opinion she doesn't belong in ANY class or school until at least its time for first grade. My opinion only, not that I am right, BUT I would not allow my kid in school. Let your kid be a kid.

You should talk to her, maybe is she afraid of someone in the class or just of her teacher ... Talk to the teacher, too and you'll understand where the problem lies.

You can't "improve" her. She's just shy but open in front of those she knows and trust. My little girl is the same way.
She probably could use more one-on-one time with you.

she is too young for school.....wait for her readiness to learn ..she will come on that....don't pressure her...be patient and appreciate her more...enjoy her being a kid because days passed so fast that without your knowing she is far away from her childhood days....
