So, basically MI5 looks after internal issues, whereas MI6 looks after issues abroad.

MI5, The Security Service deals with internal counter-intelligence and security. The MI6 is responsible with the British external security.

Originally, MI6 was responsible for operating the british spy network overseas, and MI5 was responsible for catching foreign spies in Britain. This still remains the main emphasis - MI6 gathers intelligence (on countries and other organisations such as terrorists) abroad and MI5 tries to stop other people gathering intelligence in Britain. More recently MI5 has also acquired anti-terrorist responsibilities, so now it also tries to prevent people actually operating as terrorists within Britain as well as preventing them from gathering intelligence.

the M16 is a full-auto weapon which is used be the military and NOT sold over the counter to the public.
