The Pope is the representative of the old Roman Empire! Jesus left no religion for us. He thought his followers from the Torah, which is the Old Testament.
The Apostles to spread the "good news", that the Messiah arrived, and we got the guidance and we are saved!
He left the Holy Spirit with us, so the pope cannot challenge that!
Because of Christ, and His Eternal Spirit, we need no confessors! We confess strait to God.
Again: The Pope just an another Emperor, the emperor of the Vatican, which is in Rome.
Even the remains of St. Peter is not in Rome, but in Israel:)
One try for One World Order Religion.

Just look at all the various false Protestant doctrines and heresies that are constantly being promoted by different denominations all over the world, and you'll easily understand why God's universal, world wide church needs a strong earthly leader.

When Jesus established his true church, he also established a hierarchical system of church government, which includes pope, bishops, priests, and deacons.

You Protestant guys weren't there. You missed it. Nobody thought to write ALL the details down for you late comers, either, because most people on earth couldn't even read, until about 90 years ago.

I suggest you take it up with God, but make sure you go to him through Jesus.

Its 2000 years of tradition. The pope is meant to be Jesus's represenative on earth. Ya right. It's basically a self-perpetuating bureaucracy. Can you imagine the catholic church agreeing to disband the papacy? No one EVER gives up power willingly, especially a dynasty of 2 millenia. And since catholics are trained to believe they are wayward sinners, they will always prefer an authority figure that will tell them what they have to do to get their ticket to heaven. And the vatican knows this as well, at some deeply psychological level. 2 billion people would no longer have their drug to drown the existential despair of mortality..... yikes .... 2 billion freaked out people ... i say let them keep worshipping the pope!

The way I was taught was that the Pope is the human representative for G-d on earth, and that he was supposed to be the unifying force for Catholics, as well as the one who acts as an intermediary between Catholics and G-d. Not that one is required, but that the Pope's ear is supposed to be closer to G-d, since his appointment as Pope is meant to be divinely inspired.

Of course, I converted to Judaism, so I don't necessarily put credence in any of that - but that's what I was taught.

each. enable me supply an evidence for. As i'm particular you're unsleeping, Christians think that God Is a Trinity: Father, Son(Jesus), & Holy Spirit. there could be no longer 3 gods. there could be in basic terms one million God. although, there are 3 persons Who co-Exist interior the only million Godhead. Jesus Is the Son Of the father. as a result, he's known as a results of fact the Son Of God, once you talk approximately that the father Is the 1st guy or woman Of the Trinity.

The Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the "rock" of his Church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock.

It is not for us to question the motives of Jesus Christ when he created the role of Pope.

Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:17-19)

The Pope, Peter's successor, is the perpetual and visible source and foundation of the unity both of the bishops and of the whole company of the faithful.

The Pope’s main roles include teaching, sanctifying, and governing.

Governing a united Catholic population of 1.1 billion people cannot be easy.

With love in Christ.

You will note how unified our Church is. You can walk into any two Catholic Parish Churches and find the same Mass and the same Scripture readings on the same day. What other denomination can say as much?

Though I don't believe in it, I think it's because they need one of our race to be a type of representative; Someone to be able to lead us in our own physical "world".
