I just spilled white paint on my blue carpet ... anyone have any ideas on how to get this completely out? I soaked most of it up but there is still a white circle. I just keep thinking, "There goes my security deposit!" Anyone out there with a REAL answer.

I've heard of something that you can put on paint, and paint turns into powder.... but I forgot what that was. sorry.

OK, here is the REAL answer:
Use Motsenbocker's Lift Off #5 (sold at The Home Depot for about $6 a bottle). I am assuming you have painted with a latex paint (not oil based). This stuff is absolutely magic. I have used it in my home after dripping blue paint on my tan carpet, and like you, didn't want to give up my security deposit.
As for the product, I have been to conventions and have seen these products work!
Here is the website:

Hope it saves you like it did me!

Lowes sells a product called goof off. It will remove even dried latex paint. If your carpet is synthetic you will need to use the one labeled goof off 2. That one is safe for plastics. Be careful and open all the windows until the area is dry or you will be seeing pink elephants (lol). This stuff really works well. I used to work in the paint department and that is what we used to clean up dried spills. Good luck!!!

I assume it is oil paint. Painters use thinner for cleaning their spray guns and remove stains. You will get it at paint or hardware shop. Thinner will remove the paint. Do not use it on the entire spot at first. Try it on small section and watch how it reacts. I am not very sure what effect it will leave on carpet. So take care.

If it is not an oil paint then you better talk to some one who works with that kind of paint or who work for carpet cleaning firm.

I would rent a carpet cleaner NOW. Also greased lighting works on stains...

If it is latex paint, try De-Solv-it. Wal mart or a hardware store will have it.
