The FOLDER OPTION was gone in my computer. How to resolve this???

hello to all. My concern is all about this FOLDER OPTION. I am using Windows XP Pro right now. I've noticed that after I opened a certain folder in my CD, the "folder option" from the TOOLS Menu on the top was gone..and when I locate it on the control pannel in the classic view the Folder Category was already gone...How would I make it appear again? I just want to display the invisible folder using the FOLDER OPTION but it was gone..I tried the HELP and SUPPORT CENTER here in my pc. When I tried to open the folder option shortcut after I searched "FOLDER OPTION" there was a restriction message saying: "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Pls contact the administrator" I really cant find this FOLDER OPTION ANYWHERE even in the control pannel in the classic view .. How would I make it appear again other that reformatting my pc...Pls help me with this concern.. thanks

My PC was infected with a worm (I dont recall its name), however once my PC was infected the folder options tab was gone.

i suggest you run an anti-virus to see if its the same problem, another thing click on "command prompt" in start menu and if your PC restarts automatically then i guess you have the same problem.

just go to run and type gpedit.msc
in local computer policy click on User Configuration
select Windows Component -> windows Explorer and Enable remove the folder option fromthe tools menu by selectiong properties

From what you had provided, my guess is your PC is infested with a virus. You wrote: after I opened a certain folder in my CD....
So the virus came like that. Since you might have logged in as a ADMIN, it might have used your privileges and demoted the user.

Goto Control Panel -> Users. See how many users exist. Reset Admin password and try with that login.

Log on to your pc as Administrator, u will find the folder options.
