Firstly i don't think anyone has hit the nail on the head! So here at the top pointers for losing that body fat! (Not weight why would you want to loss fat burning muscle???)

1)Drink lots of water 2-3l a day (use sugar free juices to help)
2)Eat 5-6 small meals a day (Not snacks Meals) make sure your eating every 2 hours, at breakfast make sure you have Protein and small amount of carbs, other meals should consist of mainly Protein and GOOD FATS only, if you are training then carbs before and after combined with Protein and GOOD Fats
3)Fruit and veg is vital not just for nutrients but fibre will fill you up.
4)excercise for 40-50 BEFORE you eat in the morning, your glycogen stores will be very low because of the nights fast, so your primary source of fuel will be the FAT stored under your skin, make sure to keep this low intensity tho if you go to fast you'll burn muslce
5)Keep the protein high Muscle burns fat like no ones business the more you have the more fat you'll burn, hence way body builders can lean up so much
6)Plenty of GOOD FATS, Olive oil, Seeds, Nuts, Oily Fish, or EFA Supplements, this is also vital, if you have plenty of these in your body it encourages your body to release its fats stores bit of a trick but it does work.
7)Do weights at the gym in the evening, building more muscles can only burn more calories
8)When you tailor your diet ensure you are burning more calories than your eating, hence my protein and good fats is the main source of food, they aren't calory dense
9)Allow one cheat meal a week, this will hold you on track without it you won't stick to it
10)Find good low fat foods in the supermarket, (Birds Eye 100% Chicken breasts are no good) but fresh whole chicken breasts and flavour to taste
11)Stick to Complex carbs and no carbs after 6pm, wheats brans wholemeal pasta etc

All that said it takes time and motivation, set yourself small targets and only weigh yourself every 2 weeks, there are fat burners also out there Maximuscles Thermobol is excellent at mobilising the fat stored as long as you follow the tips above also.

Good Luck and stick at it, you don't get fat over night and you don't get thin either, takes time. Think of it as a life style more than a diet.

The first 2 weeks you'll notice a sharp drop in weight this is simple because you have limited your carbs and your body can't hold as much water. So don't be disheartened if it slows.

Cheers

Danny

My brother has this same problem. He has an awful sweet tooth and its always gotten in the way of him losing weight

I advise trying a Low GI diet, You are really going to have to cook all your foods!
If you sweet tooth is abso killing you, eat fruit - eat a big old plate of it, it helps kill off the craving and its all natural sugars which are a lot better than other things
Yoghurt is another good one.
I've actually heard ONE chunk of chocolate a day isnt that bad

Try some of the diet brands of chocolate, Weight Watchers and Go ahead do some great ones and they are generally only about 60 calories... just dont do what I did and eat the whole bag!

Also the person who said if you exercise enough it doesnt matter what you eat was totally right. Follow Elle Macphersons example. She ate whatever she wanted but made sure she exercised 4HOURS everyday. You will see the weight slip right off, if you do that as well as eating right

You could try eating dried fruits, they are sweet and tasty and easy to keep handy incase of sweet tooth emergencies. Go to your local Holland & Barratt (or any health shop) you should find loads of things that are healthier to eat. I'm sure you get plenty of exercise as you have 3 kids!
I's probably not a good idea to try and be a size 6/8 again though, take it slowly and find a regime that really suits your busy lifestyle.

Good Luck!

You know, if you exercise enough, it doesn't matter what you eat. Your body will learn to crave what it needs and dislike the sweets. You do need to run or engage in a regular cardio activity, though. For me it was about 30 minutes in the morning and 40 minutes in the evening for about 4- 5 times a week.

firstly try dried fruit or fresh fruit eg. grapes they are an anti-oxidant, cut out your carbs pasta, bread, spuds etc.
When at the gym go 1st thing in the morning and do 30-45 Min's of cardio on an empty stomach as this eats straight in to your fat reserves.
By the way you are allowed to have a treat now and again!!

No sugar-free decaffeinated tea? ok then, try low carb and veggies. Like an Atkins diet but lower in fat, use lean meats. Also exercise at least 1 hour a day, make it fun. Good luck, you can do it!
