i was wondering, there is catholic church and a lot of protestant churches, not 2 or 3 but whole bunch of them!
i can understand that there is catholic and protestant church but why we got multiple protestants ways!!

i think this means that this all is more about money and ego of church leader than spirituality, what if your point of view?

I make more money that way by appealing to different markets.
Its easier to keep my racket going too. If one church loses favour for being full of paedophiles then we just dump that one and start another. There is a lot of variety in gullible superstitious mugs so you have to pander to their prejudices to get their money.
A blessing on you (that will be $50 please)

Excellent choice! Buddhism is the only religion where the followers are not watching what the other person is doing, they just get on with their lives without judging the other person or calling them freaks. You will never find a fundamentalist or fanatic or terrorist amongst Buddhists. They are not following a dogma they are truly spiritual in the sense that they do not want to harm anyone. They are enlightened enough to be tolerant and accepting. They are not trying to convert you, they believe it's your choice if you don't follow their thoughts nothing bad will happen to you. But if you do follow it then you can improve your life and your next life and the ones after that...I think I should become a Buddhist of some sort. Buddhists ideas are timeless and the don't loose their significance just like in other religion, e.g. it would now be unacceptable to marry an underage girl, whereas it was ok at the time.

I am no longer Christian having accepted Islam more than 4 years ago but as far as I have learned from the words of the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) the Christians & Jews would split into 71 & 72 sects, and the Muslims would split into 73 sects.

The sects do nothing to dicredit the religions themselves but shows that mankind always starts to go astray and that one always has to return to the original way. This is why God had to continuously send Prophets to call mankind back from where they have strayed.

The fact that there are not only many different groups within Christianity but many different bibles shows that there has definitely been a clear straying which has manifested in the changing of the original scripture itself.

One example I have is upon speaking to a Catholic Christian the other day about Jesus he said to me "Jesus and his Father are one, but they are not equal..." I'm not sure if this is a general opinion of Christians but to me it highlighted that within the Christian scriptures are contradictions which have resulted from the changing of the scripture over the centuries. The individual I spoke to came to this conclusion in an attempt to reconcile clear contradictions where Jesus shows with his own owrds that he does not know everything and cannot do or say whatever he wants.

I always revert back to what I heard once - people will always find proof and confirmation for their own beliefs, and what they see in the world will re-affirm their own beliefs as they see the world through the lens of their beliefs. It's only when you look at things clearly and evaluate the facts and proofs without bias that you will find the truth.

The truth can only be found with a sincere heart. It's like the situation in Lebanon, where it seems the majority of Christians world-wide prefer to support Israel than the muslims even though Israels actions are in direct contradiction to Christian morality and jews do not believe in Jesus(pbuh). On the contrary, muslims are the only group other than Christians who have it as an article of faith to believe in Jesus.

There are a few verses in the Quran: chapter 100(The clear evidence)
1. Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and among Al-Mushrikûn,were not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidence.

2. A Messenger (Muhammad ()) from Allâh, reciting (the Qur'ân) purified pages [purified from (falsehood or contradiction)].

3. Containing correct and straight laws from Allâh.

4. And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad () and whatever was revealed to him).

5. And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allâh, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform the obligatory prayers(salaah) and give the obligatory alms (Zakât): and that is the right religion.

Chapter 112
1. Say (O Muhammad ()): "He is Allâh, (the) One.
2. "Allâh-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).
3. "He begets not, nor was He begotten;
4. "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."

Because there is not one God. God exists in every breeze, every infant's smile, every molecule. Each person on this planet chooses to define their own concept of their higher power, whether they are aware of it or not. Even people of the same sect can disagree on aspects of spirituality. Get used to it!

And by the way, there are other religions too. Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, Shinto, Wicca, Worship of Greek and/or Roman Gods, not to mention every tribe in Africa or the Americas that has its own system of belief.
