Buy the stuff you need to treat your own head, and have him come over and treat him too. Just say you found lice in your hair and you want to make sure he doesn't have them.

I think you should tell him as soon as possible. Open it up with something like "I've noticed you've been itching your head a lot. Do you think it could be head lice?". Then, you can sort of ease him into it. I know he'll feel better once those bugs are out of his head. I've had it before, and it was NOT fun. Tell him there are ways that aren't so embarrassing to get rid of them. Tell him to comb his hair with a lice comb daily over a water filled sink, and use tea-tree oil shampoo to wash with. In addition, instead of freaking people out in the store with some de-lousing insecticide shampoo, you can get some anti-flea tick and lice shampoo for cats and dogs at walmart. It's much cheaper than its human version. That's how my family got rid of head-lice. We didn't even have to see a doctor, and it was completely gone within about two weeks. A vinegar head rinse also helped, even though it stunk. It was far less embarrassing at the store, and it worked just as well, if not better. (I know it says not for human use, but it's got the same ingredients in it that the human shampoo uses.) Let him know you've probably got it too. Help him get rid of it. Make sure he knows to completely clean his room. Wash the bedding, get fresh pillowcases, and completely vaccum his room and his mattress. Make sure he vaccums his couch and chairs and anything else. If his family has it, they'll need to get rid of them too, otherwise he'll just have them back, plus pass them on to others, which will make it that much more embarrassing. In the instance of lice, both of your families need to know so that you can all undergo treatments for them. It'll just get worse if you leave it. You have to make sure you comb through your hair over a sink filled with water. The water will make sure you don't have lice all over your counter. Make sure you brush then clean the comb after each stroke. Get down to the scalp.

Remember, don't be embarrassed. ^_^ Everyone has lice at one time or another.

Also, if you have any further questions, feel free to contact me. ^_^

As he is your boyfriend, your are supposed to be the one taking care of him and telling him if something is wrong. so dont be so worried. just go and tell him casually during a conversation that you forgot to tell him that you have noticed some lice on his head. do not tell him that you are doubting tohave those too. this may make him feel that your are telling this to him because you have got them from him and is disturbed.. tell him that you just thought he should start having a treatment before things go out of control.

best of luck!

Just tell him straight up. What do you have to lose? He can be treated too so help him with that. Make sure you buy new hairbrushes, wash everything, and getting a lice comb might help too.

Yuck. Nasty. Don't let him in your house or near YOU. That is so nasty. So filthy. Call the Department of Human Services, the Health Department. Not only are the lice on his head and yours, but crawling on his sheets, couches, chairs, cars....everywhere.

how is it that you know.. but he doesnt? Wouldnt he be itching like crazy? Just tell him he's got lice and you want something done about it... take care of yourself and your bedding... if he doesnt go along with it... then I suggest you make other living arrangements until he does something. Your health is important and if doesnt care enough to take care of himself what makes you think he can take good care of you?

Offer to have a nice bath with him, and just shampoo his head with lice remover.

think about it this way, if you had them wouldn't you want to know???
Tell him, nicely and go with him to the drug store to buy the shampoo so that you can go in and get it for him if he's too embarassed.

Then show him this.

Good luck, and understand that all he had to do was put on his buddies ball cap to get it, so don't judge him.
