Life is a phenomenon of the combination of chemicals, and the spark of life added. Evolution has enhance life forms to the understanding, comprehension, etc levels of the Human being (all part of God's design).
Not all people want More and more! More is great, but knowing how much you need is better.

1. Life is the characteristic state of organisms. Properties common to terrestrial organisms (plants, animals, fungi, protists and bacteria) are that they are cellular, carbon-and-water-based with complex organization, having a metabolism, A CAPACITY TO GROW, respond to stimuli, reproduce and—through natural selection—adapt.
2. People want more and more because they are selfish, but this is not a bad thing necessarily. It's the concept of the "Invisible Hand" at work. Basically, the "Invisible Hand" theory holds that if an organism - be it a person or a plant or whatever - diligently works for its self-interest, others will benefit as a result. An "invisible hand" inadvertently stimulates the economy and assists the poor.
It's one of the key concepts of capitalism.

life is a continuous journey... an adventure with goals set into it; a mission; different crossroads in which you could choose from. you have set goals in which you expect different possibilities... goals that may have an end: either successes or failures, which way you have to accept the outcome.
Life is a constant questioning of ones self, unending process of asking the individual existence and the purpose of existence!
People want more and more because as they achieve more and more, they don't tend to realize that their needs and wants are becoming more! even how rich they can be, they seem to think there's lacking... people are becoming vain, materialistic, uncontented, restless, busy, stressful because as with their status, their characters may also be bound to change... c",)

Attempting quench the thrist for more material pleasures is like trying to put off a fire by pouring oil into it. But then, people are so avaricious, they continue to do that.
Stop, think, look inwards. You have the perennial source of happiness and contentment. Once that spring of joy is unleashed, one does not chase the mirage called life.

Life cannot be summed up into one paragraph and not even in a book! Everyone's lives are different. The same applies for why some want more and more (whatever you mean by that) It cannot be pin pointed exactly.

People always want more cos they do not know what is satisfaction. They tend to compare themselves with someone who is more superior than them. Hence, they'll feel inferior about themselves. These group of people are actually pathetic.
