or are they still living down the holocaust?Maybe they should be helping out Israel - haha that would be totally weird!

Germany is considering the consequences of sending troops as part of the proposed peace keeping force in Lebanon. They would be caught between Arabs and Israelis which would be for historical reasons, a sensitive situation .

Well, I went into the Germany Q&A pages, and then used a translation website to translate what they were saying. Some of them had this anti-Semitic attitude, but others are saying that their government should back the US and Israel. One guy totally went OFF on someone who made some anti-Semitic remarks, telling him that he remembered WWII, and what it was like under Hitler. He also quickly reminded the kid that it is in Germany's best interests to stand by the US.
Now, whenever I go into town, I haven't noticed anything different. The Germans treat me the same way they have the nearly two years we've been here: With kindness. They are some of the sweetest people I've ever met.
But they're secretive. Who knows? I think though that they have not forgotten WWII, or the Holocaust. They haven't forgotten how many buildings in Trier and Worms were heavily damaged. And they try very hard to avoid EVER saying Hitler's name.
It's just the stupid kids who don't know what it was like that are talking about not helping.

Germany is kind of laying low, but they are involved in the middle east processes.

They have only recently got the power back to deploy troops into other countries,they have got troops in the middle east.

Germany is allies with the US so they are just kicking back and relaxing while the US kicks some butt for them
