Believe me... God have better things to do than what you are thinking! I agree.. you lost 5 points to ask this question! Man! How bored are you?

Come on.. if you are trying to come up with an argument at least come up with a good one!

You are suggesting that God create a rock that he cannot lift, then he would no longer be powerful afterwards because there is a rock he created that is so heavy that he cannot lift.

BUT...... Why should God do so! What is a good reason for him to do so!!!

Not being able to lift a rock can suggest powerlessness. I wonder why a powerful omnipotent entity would ever feel powerless! This is illogical.

Moreover, if you give logic precedent over everything else, then anyone who believes in a powerful God is simply suggesting that this powerful omnipotent God isnt constrained by a thing! So he can do the logically impossible.

In shorts, there is no rock so heavey that God cannot lift! A powerful God who cannot lift a heavy rock out of his creation would be violating the logical logic!
You coming up with such a stupid illogical argument/question by using illogical definition of an omnipotent and powerful God doesnt proof that God doesnt exists!

God may through a heavy rock on your head anytime now!! Just watch out :P Kidding hee hee

Have a good day/night... whichever applies

He is real like your ignorance. God did made all the rocks that you see and even the rocks in the sky and the planet too. And why will He lift the rocks up, He will just say it and it's there, because He's so powerful.

No answer should be given to this question!

This question is irrational and fallacious. It undermines itself because it contains an internal inconsistency. You see, if God is omnipotent then He can certainly make the heaviest rock ever. But if He cannot lift it, then He is not omnipotent. The fallacy here is in trying to uphold and yet negate omnipotence at the same time. It's logically impossible. There's no logical or reasonable answer to be given, and neither should anyone attempt to. Rather the asker should rethink his question and ask another one without committing the same mistake.

If God is real, he doesn't have interactions with us because he would have answered all of our prayers by striking dead the fools who keep asking this question over and over. And, assuming he exists, he does do useless things. Witness the human appendix which serves no useful function except to get infected and kill us, and hollow bones on flightless birds which break easier (but once again, serve no useful purpose).

Now you should give me 10 points for writing an awesome answer. : )

God is definitely real. He has made the entire universe, don't you think that is heavy enough? No matter how great His creation may be, He creates it and if He wills it, it'll be destroyed. He can do any He wills. We cannot emcompass God's powers and His knowledge.
Don't waste your time in silly questions. This must have been asked loads of times. Maybe it was you? hmmm. :P

There are certain things, God cannot or will not do.
1) He will not lie.
2) He will not sin.
3) He will not be tempted.

Questions of this kind have been recorded in logical books of the past to train the reasoning of learners.
In reality, God will test man, and no man can test Him, because man is completely ignorant, while God is Omnipotent, Omniscient and even far far greater than man to get confused by man's test!

As a Muslim point of view, God has control over everything.
So yes he can create a rock that no one can lift but if he wants that rock to move, he says "move" and it does.
You are trying to compare God with the worldy things my friend.

2006-08-07 04:32:29 · answer #9 · answered by Mesum 4 · 1 0

God IS real.
And he wouldn't make a rock so heavy he couldn't lift it because there wouldn't be any point to it, and he doesn't do anything with out a reason.

2006-08-07 04:28:26 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 2 0

yes he could make a rock as large as he would like to. he wouldn't have to lift it coz of gravity....;) for those that don't get it yet....it would be a planet....
