Most school suppliies are given out by schools except for the high school child.
If you are talking school supplies,
backpacks
crayons for small ones
glue sticks
scissors
high school student will need: three ring binders ( be careful they have to be onese that the child likes, they should pick them out)
pocket folders, colored pencils, pens, lined paper, highlighters, folder covers, magnetic mirror for locker, etc.
A list of items should be sent out with the school within the first few days of school for both elementary and high school student.
gym shoes
socks
underwear ( sounds funny but, many of the poor children do not have enough or can't find them and go without socks and underwear)
if it is a cold climate coats for the winter and snow pants
clock radio for the high school child
tennis shoes for gym
five outfits each which could be mixed and matched
the school supplies: cheapest place Wal Mart or BIG LOTS
or dollar stores
clothes probably WAL Mart or Kohls
Also if they don't get free lunch you could pay for the first month of lunches for them.
I'm a teacher too.

ya know what yes basic school supplies are wonderful, but try to get more of the updated stuff, notebooks with popular characters fill a couple of cute back packs with some school necessities but also a few "luxury" items, (ie funky pencils, erasers, little things they can use in school and show some indivualality with) that way the kids who get them have a better chance of feeling better about themselves because, right or wrong, all school age kids judge each other to a certain degree and having the right baclpack and other small things like that will help nicely, and kudos to you for thinking about it, and yes in the perfect worl I could have said teach the kids not to judge but lets face it, in a perfect world no one should have to buy another someone elseschilds school supplies.

Well Ive had laces for my women age 10 and seven however the youngest struggles. If you move right into a professional becoming save you'll uncover such a lot sneakers and running shoes are both slip on or velcro correct as much as the giant sizes. For a few motive we do not instruct our youngsters to lace their sneakers up any longer. Look at such a lot shoe stores and you'll uncover much less lace sneakers than after we have been more youthful.

Basic school supplies would be good...pencils, paper, notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, pens, glue, scissors. Walmart has pretty good deals. You may also want to try office supply stores. The Staples store in my area had boxes of pencils for 1 cent!
