exactly what) with their curtains open or otherwise in their house (or maybe in their backyard) that they are doing something illegal . . if they can be seen (I guess seen w/o trying to hard)?

I ask 'cause my mom used to purposely get dressed in front of a fron bedroom window with the blinds pulled all the way up! At MY house. I used to come running in . . and Go WTF and quickly shut the blinds. She'd say this is your house . . .you can do anything you want in it . . and no one can see in anyway . .and no one is looking . .like anyone is gonna stop and look. I hated her for this . . .because it's just crazy . . .and I told her that I just hope to God that anyone who sees her can tell that it is her and not me.

She also used to tell me out of the Blue . .that . . it's your backyard . . and anything you want to do in it . . you can . .becuase it is YOUR backyard. I don't even know what she was getting at or trying to encourage with that.

I never had any inclination of nude sun bathing or sun bathing at all . . .but I can only presume that this is what she was driving at . . .and how did she think she was gonna benefit from that . .? Who did she think was looking or was gonna be looking?

Why is she so crazy? Was she always this crazy? Is she a sexual molester wanna be? When the police came banging on my door was this what it was about? I never went to my door cause I thought it was about a misdemeanor traffic violation no-show.

I don't think so. Especially if she was facing the backyard. Now if she was doing it in the living room and that window faces the street? My sister lived in an apt complex and had a neighbor who worked for the highway patrol. His living room window was directly across from hers (about 15 ft apart) and he had the blinds pulled up every single day for 3 years. Night and day. And he would run around completely naked! Yeah and he had a fabulous body too! LOL One night we came back from the bar and, drunk, me and another girl tried to get her to go over and knock on his door and ask to borrow some sugar because he was sitting at the dining room table completely naked and all we could see was his top half and the side of his leg. If she knocked on the door he would stand up and then we'd get to see all of it. She refused to though, even though we begged and begged :(
I am as perverted as that guy too then, hahaha

I don't think your mom was a child molester wanna-be but I do think she should have respected your feelings while in your house and not done that.

Anything which CAN be seen by the public is subject to the same laws whether or not you are in your own home or yard. It doesn't matter whether or not someone might WANT to see or IS looking or not, it is illegal and your mom could have been arrested or at least cited and fined. Different states have different punishments for such things, but it is illegal. Tell her to grow up and stop being an exhibitionist in YOUR house.

It sure doesn't make a lot of sense. However, there is a story about a women undressing in front of a window. If a man watches this, he is a peeping Tom. If the man does the same thing, he is an exhibitionist. Go figure.

Laws varry from state to state but yes most do have laws about indeseant and obscene acts(and your mom was exposeing herself ) and that is what the laws were meant to prevent, You wouldn't want someone dreassing/undressing in front of your house or school where your children attend???Would you? Sounds like your Mom needs some attention from the opposite sex...is she hot??? Hook me up!!! What window dose she dress??? JUST KIDDING!!!!!! Yeah I would tell her the laws have changed a lot ...Now when you "moon" someone they can arrest you and when your relleased they make you regester as a sex-offender!!! So watch-out!!!.....cause' big brother is watchin' you!!!

Getting naked even inside your house when seen from the outside is punishable under the Penal Law for obscenity. However, there is no crime if no one will file a complaint against your mother.

Yes, it is illegal if the "exhibition" is viewable to the public. It is usually a misdemeanor but you can be charged depending on what is being done in public view.

Maybe she was trying to instill the belief that there is nothing to be ashamed of the naked body within you.....
