I have currently using b-12 and lipotropics 4 weight loss, do they really work. I googled lipotropics and I guess the amino acids help decrease fat from you liver, this speeding your metabolism. Are these injections dangerous as I have lost 20 lbs with lipotropic injections, does someone no more about these injections, I know for a fact the b-12 does not help you lose weight.

Lipotropic injections are marketed as a non-prescription weight loss product. As such they are not regulated by the FDA as to safety and effectiveness. The mix contains four components which claim to help metabolize fats. The individual components are common, found in naturally occurring foods, a mix of vitamins, amino acids, and carbohydrates. No data is provided by the manufacturer as to actual weight loss results.

In addition, if you order the product, they claim to send you information on how to self-administer shots (injections). This has obvious safety risks such as infection, bleeding, and allergic reactions, and I would not recommend this as a learn-by-mail procedure.
