Good answer :

The answer is that it is an evolutionary trait of gathering a pile grass or weeds to make a little nest for warmth and softness before laying down to sleep. But your joke was cute.

This is a trait from the wild. When lying down the turn circles to get a view from all angles. They are looking for critters that will bite or hurt them if laid upon. Centipedes, spiders and snakes are just a few.

Some people think it is to fluff up the leaves and grass. It might fluff it up, but it's more to the the critter out of it..
