A lot of time in the summer people lose a lot of hair - much more than in the winter. If you are really scared - go to a doctor - by not going it will only let the problem progress.
Other home remedies - if you are a female - start taking pre-natal vitamins (over the counter brands are fine) - as directed. The folic acid tends to help promote nail and hair growth and if you are female and ovulating - it shouldn't hurt you to take those vitamins instead of just taking regular vitamins. However - PLEASE check with your doctor before making any changes- your doctor knows your body better than anyone on here so it would be best to ring them up and ask before trying anything new. The other reason people lose hair at times is due to stress. If you can find a way to relax a bit you may notice a differnece in a few weeks. But all in all you should call your doctor at the very least.

Losing hair is pretty normal. My stylist said it's normal to lose 80 strands a day. It all has to do with your body and hormones and such. If you're stressed, try relaxing. I'd say first try changing your shampoo. That sometimes helps, I used Pantene for a long while and I seemed to start losing more hair so I switched and it got better. I still lose a lot of hair sometimes. Like others have said here, using dyes and such could also affect your hair so try keeping it healthy. And if you feel that you are losing more than the 80 or so strands then maybe you should talk to a doctor. It won't be bad news most likely, probably something simple such as stress management or a deficiency in some vitamin.

Hair loss has absolutely nothing to do with cancer...

Hairloss could be due to ur diet or ur haircare products. If you have oily scalp, all the more u should shampoo ur hair regularly to keep ur scalp clean else e grease will block the follicle and worsen the problem. Use a light shampoo for daily use that's suited for oily hair. Do not rub in ur conditioner onto your scalp. Only condition the ends of ur hair. N u need to change ur shampoo cos sunsilk is too moisturizing(oily) to my knowing.

Refrain from coloring or doing any chemical treatment to your hair.

Stay away from MSG and processed food too..

It is normal to lose 50-100 hairs each day. Don't worry!!!. Make sure u are eating healthy and having enough iron and protein. If you are eating unhealthy or aneorexic this will happen to everyone, or obese i should state. The most common reason for losing too many hairs , other than what i have already said is the thyroid condition. Very common, not deadly!!!! Easily medicated. You are too young for that , so try the other tips i suggested.

There are medical conditions that cause hair loss. Cancer itself rarely causes hair loss, it's the treatment (the red chemo) that does it. My daughter loses alot of hair, and if you have long hair like most 14 year olds, it looks like alot of hair, but it really isn't, we have to snake out her bathtub drain regularly. Try to make sure you're eating right, hair is dead tissue once it's out of your head, so make sure you're feeding it from the inside. Drink plenty of water. Take a good multi vitamin, and you should be fine.

However, if the hair is falling out in thick clumps, and is leaving balding spots on your head, I'd definitely go see a doctor about it. There are treatments for most forms of pediatric alopecia (the medical term for hair loss) Here's an article about hair loss, causes and suggested treatments.

You're probably experiencing some normal hair loss like most girls do during the summer months.

If you really feel like you're losing more hair than you should be, you HAVE to see a doctor. Chances are, it's nothing more than a vitamin deficiency. Also, exposing your hair to chlorine (the pool) and sun during the summer tends to make it brittle and easily breakable.

Generally speaking though, you really should see a doctor if you feel like it's serious.

hey, relax! nothing's happening to you! it's just good old hormones making themselves felt. 14 is a nice age for them to wake up and that's what they're doing. they're making changes in your body and that's probably resulting in your hair falling off.
definitely go to that doc. he'll help.big time. it's NOT cancer.your hair only falls out when you have anti-cancer TREATMENT(chemotherapy) and not cancer itself. you've gotten it muddled.
get your blood checked for iron levels and keep the stress down. it's only adding to your hair fall.

First off, most girls do lose their hair. Especially since it's Summer.

Secondly, have you dyed your hair ever? It will make you lose hair sometimes. Pretty much always. It won't get bad, sweetie, just like you said, then it will grow back. Always.
