when i'm with my friend (whom i might be getting together with) we'd make sounds when we have blank times... if we are just sitting there and can't think of anything to say we will go "doo dee doo" to cover the ocward silence.

when we cuddle and don't have anything to say but we feel like saying something we will go "meow" sometimes she'll go "chii" or "kupo" or "o'fwee"

also when one goes "meow" the other will go "meow" in return kinda like when you tell someone "i love you" but the "meow" dosen't express that strong of feelings.

i'm not exactly sure the feeling we express through our sounds but it makes me feel happy when she meows back.

Does anyone else do this or are we just a really odd pair?

Lol thats kinda funny but i wouldn't worry, its not that odd. It sorta just shows you really like eachother or more. Ask yourself this, would either of you do that to anyone else you know...my guess is no. In a way its a sign of trust, closeness, and affection. I also doubt that you feel really all that awkward if neither of you has said anything for a while....just an assumption, but somehow I think you don't do it to make things less awkward because i doubt they really are in the first place...just go with the flow, that sorta stuff is what makes a couple really unique and special...no matter how weird it may seem to some lol, just go with it and try not to do it to much in public...you might get some weird looks!

I think that its a good way to break the silence. I dont meow but i normally will make some sound or just ask some random question to break it. And saying i love you has become such a common phrase that it almost looses its meaning so i think that even thou your way is out there it has more meaning.

You guys are extremely weird but you sound perfect for eachother...... Do your thing and dont worry what other people think. You probably wont find too many other chicks to meow back.... lol Good luck kitty cat.

Who's to say who's odd and who isn't. If the two of you like making funny little sounds, make funny little sounds. No, I can honestly say, I have never made funny little sounds with any of my friends. Whatever rocks your boat...

There is still time to understand each other and react further. Keep on moving towards end of true love. You will get it. Best of luck.

I don't think you two are a really odd pair just cute. So keep it up and don't let the friendship die.

yeah, all the time, when I talk to my cat...I go "meow", and sometimes she meows back, or scratches if she feels playful.

We all make noises, you aren't totally odd.

yes some people do that too...
hey why not try to say to her the words you want to tell her with the sounds you make... who knows maybe you'll hear her say that in return... and say "finally!"
