Christians use the bible because they know of nothing else, what they don't admit is much of the bible is wrong, and Lot's can be proved to be wrong. If you read the the original text, translations from Hebrew are in correct, but i expect most Christians don't even bother finding out these things, and just accept being brainwashed.

Just to add having read some of the answers the bible was NOT written by God, it just show people answer without really knowing the answer.

Chrisitans feel that the Bible is important because it was written by God so it is the ultimate source of answers.

There's no point in being an angry atheist. A passionate atheist but not an angry atheist, you'll only annoy people.

Personally I think that the Bible is a great source of information, as long as you want to know how much you can beat your slave without being fined, or how many wives you can have the answers are all there. So relevant in modern Britain.

Believing is a matter of faith, no one will deny that.
Each of us is made with a desire to know God and to have relationship with him. I am sure regardless of what is said or "admitted" to, every person seeks him in their heart, because he made us that way (that is how God is seeking you!). That is why you are angry! But we have choice, and also the consequences of our choices.
People read the references, people believe in them - you make an incorrect generalization (nobody reads them).
There is nothing more powerful than scripture, which also says it never comes back void.
Maybe you could recognize that they are given to reveal truth. You are fighting tooth and nail - the decision to love God is the greatest one you can make.

look, i know that sometimes is frustrating..esp when ppl shout out "your going to hell." and "you must be sooo unhappy" but yelling back only makes a louder noise, and doesn't help!!!

you believe what you will, they believe what they will.
you want to talk with someone that has the same views as you? go to the yahoo groups board and look for groups that interest you.
I'm in contact with many ppl that have the same interests as i do...and DON'T insult you for not believing in the mundane brainwashing that is the modern day church.

insulting them on here will only anger you further.
peace :)

What an angry, impotent young man you must be in real life. It's a shame you have to hide behind anonymous message boards to insult people. I will pray for you.

I am not ashamed to hide behind my God. He said He will fight the battle for me. I am weak and He is strong. Maybe you are not willing to read about the truth but there are those who are. Truth will always prevail.

Those Christina's make me mad too! I am more of an April person!

I do like Christians who follow this format of Christianity though!

Wow, I agree with you on one thing. If people are making threats to you , that tells you a lot about them.
But not about The Bible or our creator.
Is the Bible scientific?

Thank you for sharing your viewpoint...

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Please be aware that there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)

Cordially,
John

Why the anger? If you don't read them anyway, why let it bother you so much?
