With no offense intended to others, I do not believe that salvation occurs at one point in your life, and that from then on you are in the clear. It is an ongoing process. As imperfect humans, we are bound to sin. If one is properly sorry for what they have done and has the intent to not commit the sin again, they may be forgiven. However, it is an ongoing battle to keep yourself in the proper state of grace.

The redemption that comes from believing in God's Son, Jesus Christ. When you place your trust in Him and cast your sins before Him, then He remembers them no more and you have been justified ( He looks at you just-as-if you had never sinned). It is not based on works, it is based solely on believing and receiving in the Son. He has done all the work, your simply acknowledging that salvation from sin and death is only found in Him.

I'll tell you what. If you bought a white t-shirt and spilt a lot of things on it, that would be like our souls. We start out white and perfect in the sight of God. But like our ancestors and parents, we sin and dirty our souls. The only way to make us white again is to be washed by the Blood of Jesus. Now that simply means that we must repent and ask God to forgive us and ask the Holy Spirit to lead us down a path of righteousness. But we as humans are not perfect and we sin and make mistakes everyday. And with the power of salvation, we can continue to come before God and ask for forgiveness and guidence in every walk of our life. When we ask for God's forgiveness, we also ask Him to save us from the eternal fate that is coming to those whose intentions are not just and true, an eternal seperation from God and eternal suffering in the burning lake of fire.
"For the grace of Godthat bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us from all iniquity, purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zelous of good works." (Titus 2;11-14 kjv) It is by the grace of god That we are saved from our sins.

Salvation: If you repent of your sins and turn to Jesus in sincerity and humility, he will forgive you. And you can live in daily relationship with God, and end up in heaven ultimately.
For a brief explanation of the gospel (of salvation through Jesus Christ), see http://www.godsci.org/gs/new/essence.htm...

salvation can represented by one name: JESUS.
Jesus is the only way to be saved from hell. you can either accept Jesus as your Savior and go to Heaven, or deny Him and go to hell. it's so easy, yet people make it so hard!

We have all inherited a sin nature upon birth because of the sin of Adam and Eve. Prior to the Son of God coming to earth in the flesh 2000 years ago, animals had been sacrificed continually to cover over the sin of man. The sacrificing of their blood represented the future shedding of the Blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, which serves as a covering of our sins if we accept Him into our hearts.
These sacrifices for sin were joined with the Law of the 10 commandments given directly from God to His servant Moses. For close to 1500 years, mankind had attempted to live according to the Law while sacrificing animals as a sin atonement. The entire process was provided to God's chosen nation of Israel, yet they often refused to abide by it, and often perverted it's implementation.
Many of God's prophets were given insight into a future perfect sin redemption sacrifice ( one who would forever satisfy the sin debt in which we are all born) that would be provided by the Son of God Himself.
Sin had separated man from God, but God was willing to allow His only begotten son Jesus Christ to become the only perfect sin atonement. The sin placed upon us by Adam and Eve would no longer dominate us.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became flesh; He was born to an earthly woman named Mary who was conceived through the Spirit of God. He did not have a biological earthly father, for this would have placed Him into a sin nature along with the rest of mankind. He was born pure, but Jesus had to face every temptation and confrontation with sin like any other human, but He conqured all attacks, remaining perfect.
As He willingly gave His life by shedding of His own blood on the cross of Calvary, He became the only access in reuniting us to God. " So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many" ( Heb 9:28). He was crucified on a cross to serve as the " Perfect" sacrifice to God in place of each and every one of us. All that we need to do is freely accept this " Gift" of sin atonement given to us through Jesus Christ. This free " gift" means an eternity with God in Heaven instead of an eternity in a suffering Hell.
This is what is known as " Salvation "!
