I think I got a spider bite on my right tricep, but I'm not 100% certain. I got rashes on the inside of my forearms, then the rashes spread to my legs, neck, and I itch all over (although it's a dull itch). The first doctor gave me 360 mg/day allegra and a shot of cortisone to stop the spread, but it didn't do much. I'm still having shortness of breath as well. I then got numbness in my right arm and my legs, my calves and hamstrings tightened up. I went to the ER last Saturday morning. The doc gave me Biaxin, which I had an allergic reaction to (i.e. it felt like my body was lit on fire). My doctor then changed the prescription to Levaquin. At first, the of the symptoms were decreasing, but now the rashes are still going (even though I've taken Benadryl the last 2 days), the numbness is off and on in my arm and legs, and I'm still having shortness of breath and a tight chest. I am coughing up pleghm too. My tonsils look weird. Is this a bite or some sort of other infection?

Angel, the itch is dull, but it's on my legs, stomach, back, neck, and arms. I don't itch them very much though since the itch is not bad enough. I am worried about the numbness going on and off in my right arm and legs though

barbara, my tonsils look kind of strange. Usually with tonsillitis, I thought the tonsils would get red and swell really bad, but mine look like craters and one of them it looks like has a white dinky dot on it.

Angel, I may have strep. From what I just read on the internet, cellulitis can be caused by strep, which would explain my rashes, the on and off numb arm and ankles, the different rashes, the tightened chest too. I looked at my tonsils again in my mirror, and I saw 2 white dots on one of them and one on the other, and both of them had "craters" on them of different sizes, shapes. I'm wondering if Strep is causing everything else in my body (rashes/hives, numb arm/legs, tight chest), and I've had headaches. I checked my glands in my neck and they are a little swollen, but my throat isn't sore (yet).

For other answerers, in case you hadn't noticed, she's already been to the doctor, and hospital ER.

The ER will likely brush you off because it is not immediately life threatening (priority is based on urgency), which means your in for a few hours in the waiting room to see an overworked doctor who scraped their way through medical school to what they believe is a crummy intern position at an overcrowded, disease and death ridden "clean room". They don't want to be there any more than you do.

The only way you are going to get the immediate, professional care you feel you need is to pay through the nose for the attention of a financially contented, dux-of-their-class private hospital ward, preferably to see someone trained as a diagnostician like Dr House MD (from the TV show). The more your doctor sees you as a puzzle rather than a person, the faster and more effective the diagnosing and treating (of whatever it is you've got) will be.

The longer your limbs remain numb the higher the chance you will be paralysed. The longer your tonsils remain "wierd", the higher the chance you will be muted. The longer you have a tightening of the chest the higher chance you will have a heart attack. I can say the same thing about every one of the symptoms your experiencing.

See medically trained professionals immediately! This is your standard of living, and potentially your life we are talking about. Stop worrying about what could happen and create your destiny. Be totally here now, deal with your current circumstances OR accept them the way they are. Complaining cannot help you! Help yourself now. GO NOW!

Is the itching at night only?
The rash and your sore throat may be two different things. Have you switched detergents, soaps, or anything like that? It could be hives. I get them and it can be itchy and some areas can feel numb. Hives aren't always easy to get rid of. You do get white spots on your tonsils if you have strep. I would go back to the Dr. and tell him all of you symptoms. If the shortness of breath is really bad or worsens go to the hospital right away.

My kids always break out in Roseola..I probably spelled that wrong. They get this rash from a high fever do to having tonsilitis. The tonsilitis was caused from strep throat. They eventally had to get their tonsils removed. Get a second opinion ok?

Wow, please go to the dr. or ER ASAP. The shortness of breath is not a good thing. Have them do a Strep culture on the spot. Also, check for Lyme Disease, and Rocky Mountain Fever.
Don't let the drs. brush you off. I had Rocky Mountain Fever years ago, and if I recall correctly, the symptoms were very similar.

Good luck to you.
