firew and brimstone hell and damnation give it up pal don't you see that those who tell you that you are going to hell are the very people you should avoid. if they keep it up your self esteem will be at the very bottom then you will feel worthless and maybe depressed to the point of suicidal thinking. Give your self a break and quit listening to people spouting off about something about which they have no first hand knowledge. Start believing in things which are factual not religious voodoo.

No, no, no. Jesus doesn't even talk about hell. Very few people who had Near Death Experiences saw anything resembling hell. Apparently, you get what you expect. If you expect your loved ones to be waiting for you, they will be. Hell is a human concept, not a divine one. My God is one of infinite love that surpasses all the narrow-minded bigotry that often seems to dominate the world. It doesn't though. Many people believe that you get whatever you want just for praying. That's not the way God works. Alot of people believe in a vengeful and wrathful God. This is not the God that Jesus spoke of. My interpretation is that you are right - a God of infinite love would have compassion and mercy. Remember the story of the prodigal son - the black sheep that ran off and blew all the dough on a 2 year drunk. The father was so happy at his return that the good son's nose was out of joint. I believe Jesus was saying that God is happier when a sinner repents than when a goody-good pats themselves on the back. Who needs more forgiveness? Who has learned more? The person who never sinned or the person who has sinned and seen the error of their ways? I use the term "sin" here as any action, thought or inaction that hurts anyone - including the self. God gives us choices to make and no matter what we do, it's okay with him. We just have to balance it out with ourselves. Keep up the search for truth. You will find one all your own. But keep in mind that you are responsible for the choices you make.

It is true that God created all of that, but you seem to remove the element of free will. I didn't see your question from before, but what I believe is that everyone has a chance at heaven. As a Catholic, it is my belief that anyone from any religion has the potential for getting into heaven. If (as a Christian or someone who has a more than superficial acquaintance with the religion) live by the rules set down by God, or at least give it your honest best and are truly sorry when you mess up, you stand a great chance. If you come from a non-Christian religion and live according to your conscience and reason (and have not knowingly denied Christ with full knowledge and consent), then I think you have a chance also.

I believe that as long as your a good person and live your life good then you will go to heaven and I am christian. People are too quick to judge other religions or the lack of one. Which Judging is a sin also. The only person that can say you are going to hell is god don't listen to anyone else especially on here. My cousin is pagan and people try to tell me that she is going to hell for not being christian because they judge her without even knowing her. She is the sweetest person I know and she has saved me from the hardships in my life. She was there for me when no one else was and too me that makes her a great person and she will go where all good people go. Their are murders, Child molesters, and everything else that you can think of that are christian I know of one and he will get everything he deserves. Just because people like that are Christians doesn't mean there going to heaven and just because you don't believe there is a god yet. You are not going to hell unless you are a bad person.

You have free will to make the choices you decide to make, and you have consequences to all you do. If you are not living within God's will, but in your own will, then there will be chaos, depression, guilt, etc....these things are because of the absence of God in your life, by your choice, not His....He waits for you to decide to invite Him into your heart and your life, so He can set you free and give you peace. Once you invite Him in, ask the Holy Spirit to live through you, in other words pray for God's will to be done in your life, pray it with faith!!! When you start living within His will, your life changes and then He has more control, but in a good way! It's like when you were little and you blindly trusted your dad or mom or whoever as they drove the car....you did not try to take control of the wheel, because you trusted that your parents knew what they were doing, and your life was in their hands. When you let God "drive" and you justtrust Him, things in life get very much easier.

I like how you think, :)
Because this is exactly how I feel,
God created us, IF he is perfect and then created is, and we are imperfect, then he did not create perfection, which makes him a failure, which then does not make him perfect!!!!!!
He makes wars and all that other **** too, people die and people fight over whats right and wrong, that is not a perfect god.....
Alright now I have a serious problem with one of you peoples answers.
koresh419
Hell is NOT a Pagan myth, Pagans dont even believe in hell.
Good Grief, do you people ever research **** before you say things.
Well I dont but I at least dont say things like THAT, which is WAY WAY WAY false.
PAGANS DONT BELIEVE IN HELL, HELL IS NOT A PAGAN MYTH. PAGANS DONT BELIEVE IN A DEVIL.
AND THEY ARE NOT EVIL PEOPLE, RESEARCH THIS AND YOU WILL SEE,
Geebus.....

You can go to hell when I can to to the place where they make fairies and unicorns. Oh wait neither of those places exist. It's my firm belief the the entire "you will go to hell unless..." story was created as an easy way to keep people in line. Since most christians police themselves each one is one less person the government has to worry about. (just to add I can't believe that spellcheck would try to capitalize christians... *sigh* two steps foreward, one step back.)

Your looking at this all wrong-first God does not use you like a puppet-and he doesn't live through you (not yet) In order to have god in your life, you have to invite him. He did create you, like everyone else. but he also gave you the ability to decide for yourself. It is your decision as to if you choose to have a relationship with God or not. Actually.....your the one who chooses hell! God doesn't really send you there. Since there are only two places that are available after we die, our choice is Gods house or Hell. Ultimatly....it is your choice, not his

God did show understanding and mercy by sending his Son Jesus to die for you. God decided what was necessary for Salvation, we dont have that choice. The choice we do have is whether we will accept His Son or not, that's the only way.

Do you think if you yelled out the window, "Superman, superman, come quickly!", that he would appear? No, he won't because Superman is also a work of fiction just like the idea of hell.
Just live your life being the best person you can be, and not worry about these child-like stories of punishment that religion tells you to have control over your life.
