I totally agree with you, my friend. Most of those sorts of users are just attention seekers and the more attention (answers) we give them the more it feeds their need and they are more likely to 'pop back up.' However some answerer's just can not resist the temptation, so I say the fault very much lies on both sides.

I was just thinking the same thing. And hey! What a great way to bring together all of the different beliefs!!
Apparently we can't get rid of some jerks, so can't we just all agree to not answer? You can't be that desperate for 2 points, really, right???
It's offensive to more than the people they're aiming their pointless comments at....

Sadly, the same reason people respond to legitimate queries apply to those who answer questions that are clearly... for lack of a better word, bull. The reason? It's also the reason this site, every blog, literally every written word, and this post exists:

I report them 2 but they don't get taken off one question even went to the voting stage about some 12 yr old boy who liked to have sex with older men!!
So what does that tell u even if u report it they get to stay on at least I can tell them they r NASTY!!!!!

Sadly I fear some people think they are cute or funny and don't think that what they are saying is all that offensive. It goes over well in their circle of friends, so they don't comprehend that it is offensive outside of their circle of friends. That's why I respond to them, and report them.
