God I recognize that I have sinned many sins. I admit these sins to You and ask for your forgiveness. I commit my life to living for You. I believe that Jesus is the only Son of God and that He died for me. Come into my heart and make me new. I will confess to someone that I have made this decision. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

There is no set standard of words, it's the attitude of the heart that God sees and He knows those who love Him.
Some pray this way, "Dear Father in Heaven, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace, I believe that Jesus came and died for my sins and I repent of those sins I've committed against you. Jesus, would you come into my heart and make me whole, I desire to follow you all of my days. I love you Lord, thankyou for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen."
If you pray this believing that it is true, the Spirit of God will fill your life and your sins will be remembered no more.
It is important to then tell as many people as possible about this decision, find a good Bible only believing church and seek to be baptised, this is just an external representation of your committment to Christ. From this point on, your life has been altered and your course is on God's path. You are considered a child of God, blessed for all eternity, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

God and Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me and come into my heart and life from this day forward. Help me to seek your face and trust you and all of my ways from this point on. Reveal yourself and your word to me as I do my part in knowing you by reading your Holy word, The Bible. (A good palace to start reading would be the book of John, the fourth book in the new testament, then the book of Romans, the rest of the four gospels and then perhaps Ephesians, Philiipians, and Hebrews). Say that s prayer, and sincerely mean it, and you are now a saved individual! Welcome to a new life in Christ and eternal life when we die a mortal death here on earth!

Good question...

You can receive Christ right now. Remember that Jesus says, "I'm standing at the door and I'm knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in."

Would you like to respond to his invitation? Here's how.

The precise words you use to commit yourself to God are not important. He knows the intentions of your heart. If you are unsure of what to pray, this might help you put it into words:

"Jesus, I want to know you. I want you to come into my life. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin so that I could be fully accepted by you. Only you can give me the power to change and become the person you created me to be. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life with God. I give my life to you. Please do with it as you wish. Amen."

If you sincerely asked Jesus into your life just now, then he has come into your life as he promised. You have begun a personal relationship with God.

What follows is a lifelong journey of change and growth as you get to know God better through Bible reading, prayer and interaction with other Christians.

that is deep!!!!! everyone has thier own relationship with thier belief in god and religion. Who is not a sinner?
being human, who knows?
we have our own faith and hope it is right. personal relationships with what we believe is god will dictate how we ask for salvation. but definately a good question.

mere words does't help one to attain salvation, its deep meditation which has the capability to sink one sins also,to go within is the only prayer/solution.

I don't think that there have to be set words. The prayer should probably include repentance, a sincere pledge that you will try not to sin again, and thanks to God for the gift of forgiveness.

It goes something like " Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name...." but in the bible (matt. ch. 6 or 7?) right below those words that catholics recite over and over, Jesus says not to pray in such a way where you are repeating the same words. interesting eh? Lesson: read the context of the scriptures if they are important to you.

Dear God: I know I have sinned and that my sin separates me from You. I am sorry for my sin. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me so my sin can be forgiven. I believe Jesus rose from the dead and is alive. God, please forgive me. I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my Savior and Lord. I will obey you and live for You the rest of my life. Thank You. In Jesus name, Amen.
