Keep them on leashes or confined to a small space where you can watch them. When they start to go yell. "NO" bad dog. Then take them out and praise them. Even if nothing else comes out.
Then go right back into the house. No playing. They need to learn the difference between potty time and play time.
Take them out on leashes when they have been alone, eaten or napped. Stay out until they go saying "go potty" until they do. Praise them and go directly into the house. Again, no playing.
Eventually they will go on command so you don't have to guess or wait for them.

OH, hon, all puppies new to a apartment have injuries. EVEN WELL HOUSE BROKEN DOGS WILL HAVE ACCIDENTS IN A NEW HOME.. ~~~ALL~~~ puppies new in house will do that, i'm surprised they didn't provide you with a warning of this????? My puppy is flawlessly housebroken, however, i will be able to promise you, if i drove over there, left my puppy off at your apartment, he'd **** for your flooring too. This puppy is afraid, and uncertain in which the toilet IS, how do i inform those ppl that i have got to move external, and many others and many others, and possibley even on new meals. Take this puppy external each and every two hours. and as soon as once more, very overdue at night time, and once more, very early within the morning, and each and every two hours all day lengthy. After a couple of days, you'll be able to cut down to each and every three hours. If the puppy messes up, don't say a factor, that puppy is already mortified, simply blank it up and take puppy external. WHY DID THEY NOT TELL YOU THIS???? PLease google "Rescuing an grownup puppy" and please achieve a few perception into your puppy's demands. this puppy does now not recognise you in any respect, grownup puppies take a lil at the same time to consider dependable, to even consider dependable adequate to invite you to open the door. Most new puppies lay low for plenty of weeks, they just about appear depressed, cuz they're on their "manufacturer manners" but, and are uncertain if YOU are trustable, they spend time watching you, however you'll now not reeeally "meet" your truly puppy for a while. i consider so so so sorry for this puppy, being locked in a cage for eight to ten hours!! Why oh why did you get a puppy, if you're on no account house, and can quickly be centered one hundred% on a brand new little one? oh, this deficient deficient puppy....

I train all mine to go out my bedroom window into a fenced back yard. My grand daughter gave me a pup for my birthday and she has the same habit go out to play come in and do her business drives me nuts. If I can catch her in the act a lite swat on the Rear and a firm bad dog along with a trip to the window. she will eventually eventually get the message. Another way I heard of was to take the pup/dogs out every hour to a set spot to do their thing. If you got the time this seems the best way to train them if you have the time. Dogs follow a pattern when looking for a spot to dump so if you see them wandering around sniffing and it looks like they are looking run them outside. Once they get the ideal then you need to keep an eye for their signals ie going to the door or coming to you and looking expectantly at you. I always ask you Need to go out and they jump and rub for the window if its shut for the winter. Some dogs never learn and need to stay outside.... Above all be patient. firm and consistent with them

My mother locks her new dog up in her bathroom and lays these pads down that r absorbent and they go on it until she gets them trained. We always would rubb their noses in their mess and I guess u would say spank them lol and then take them outside. If they go to the door to b let out or go potty outside w/out an acciedent inside we give them a puppy treat. That's worked for us everytime.

when they go inside scold them but DO NOT rub their faces in the mess.
when they go outside praise them and give them a good rubbin so as you dont make them dependant on treats
