Got invented languages because of the old tower of Babel thing... are we doing it again by going into space. Is space heaven? If not then what was the whole tower of Babel thing about?
Oh so many questions.

The tower of Babel represented the pride of men and their challenge against God's sovereignty. Man's space exploration is just curiosity and intrigue, it is nowhere near the same.

Well, when Utah Senator Jake Garn, who is Mormon, took his trip into space, he was enthusiastic about more space exploration (see link below). I believe the reason the Tower of Babel displeased God was because people were trying to escape future consequences of sin by building a tower large enough that they could reach heaven on their own. It may be they were thinking of the Great Flood in Noah's day. I have also heard that they were using it as more of a counterfeit kind of temple, like the Egyptian pyramids. Personally I think space exploration's expenses should be moderate compared to how much is spent on helping children and senior citizens, whose needs would be more important.
P.S. Space is not heaven.

Muslims think so. When that spaceshuttle exploded a few years back, they said it was cos they were affronting GOD by trying to reach Heaven. Oh yeah and cos a Hindu and Jew were on board. Thrice-dam racist bastards.

Ask a Christian...I'm not sure how ignorant they are these days, but I know they used to kill people for suggesting that the Earth revolved around the Sun...

Or was it the Catholics? -_- Potato Potahto.
