Most people can spread their toes like a bunch of little monkey toes. I can't and it drives me crazy. Is there something wrong with my muscles or is it something in my brain that doesn't connect properly to allow me to do this. And if you're really smart, is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

try giving your feet a good massage. While youre touching the areas in between your toes, try to push on your hands, with your foot muscles, see if your hands can feel any movement. Sometimes you just have to get your neurons to respond better by stimulating them this way. Practice more, it will work in time.
Your neurons arent always preprogrammed to do what they are supposed to, so you sometimes have to kinda teach them, like a baby has to be taught how to swallow food. Its often gradual, but it will happen, eventually.

maybe you have webbed toes...? exercise always helps train your muscles to do thing that you can't do normally. In PT they will use their hands to teach the muscles to do what they want to do and create new nueron connections, but truthfully that is something that is much easier to do as a child. But basically, practice makes perfect. good luck.

Do you have webbed feet? are there small amounts of skin between your toes? It is probably a genetic thing. Does it affect your balance in any way? if not I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

practice makes perfect. before i cannot move my ear. i practiced in front of the mirror and after some time i have done it. i others can, maybe you can too. maybe your muscles are just too weak that it needs practice. anyway, why would you want to spread your toes if you think it looks like monkey toes?

if you have very high arches and narrow feet, your bone structure may not allow you to spread your toes very far, simply because the muscles and ligaments are close together.

the average person has 52 bones in each foot, and everyone of us is different.
