And protection of America

2006-08-06 18:44:58 · answer #1 · answered by A* 4 · 0 0

No,
if there was the sincere intrest of the Iraqi people there wouldn't have been torture approval, there would have been a greater number of troops to secure the area in the first two years, there would have been an honest use of Iraqis to rebuild thier country instead of these American Corparations making all the profits.

I believe that the troops are being sent to fight for something that has nothing to do with protecting America from terrorist.

Besides the issue is it being done right, comes should it have been done at all.

i support the troops which is why i don't want them there during a civil war we cant' take sides in.

It's too early for me to say. I can't help but think that the US went to Iraq under a false pretense in order to achieve something else in the process (aka oil). If Saddam wasn't such an idiot, then the US wouldn't of had much ground to stand on for an invasion (cause he repeatedly violated the terms he agreed to after Desert Storm in 1991).

If you want a more accurate answer, try asking again in 50 years, when we can look at it in hindsight. As for my answer/opinion, I'll say yes, albeit under some suspicious causes (we have yet to find any WMD's that Bush insisted the Iraqi's had. Either they didn't have it, or they hid it really, really well). And to end the torture and cruelty of Saddam's regime, I'd say that was worth it (since no one else seems to want to do anything about it).

I do believe that the Americans soldiers feel that they are fighting for freedom. It's the ones in power that may have other agendas. Don't get me wrong. After 911 most people wanted to go to war and everyone was so patriot. We needed to find the enemy and we needed to protect ourselves. When we did go to war it was a several months after 911. It makes you wonder why. What i hate is American soldiers dying for oil.

wow strange poem tuff as nails. I dreamed of a world without terrorists a world of nodding heads from grownups and laughter from children freedom to go shopping and to work at a job of my choosing. When I awoke I was sweating from the heat and realized my 15 minute break was up. Not too much rest for a United States Marine but I don't need much when I am on a misson such as this. I wish you all peace and happiness and will fight to the death for your right to have it....

Americans are the only freedom fighters left in the world today. When all of the rest of the cowards on this planet are called to account, they will lay down in shame.

freedom from whom? that's my question! Mr. bushy should be concerned about the situation of americans in america rather than bringing "freedom" to the iraqis'!!! he wanted Saddam, he got him. now get the heck out of iraq.

sorry to say but there is a lot for busshy to do here in the USA. this society needs freedom from racism, serial killers, rapists, child molesters, outlaws, drug dealers, homeless ppl, etc. he should first try freeing his nation and this so called "modern and developed country" from these disgracing aspects! why try cleaning others mess when u got a lot of your own?!!

As in Vietnam, I believe Americans(the soldiers who are fighting there), are fighting to stay alive, to finish their tour and return home.

America's freedom could be fought for much more effectively by just carpet bombing the Mid-east to rubble.... but, that wouldn't be nice and "might" kill innocent people. If there truly is such in the Middle-east.

No! Definitely not! The ONLY reason Americans continue to die in Iraq is to try and show worldwide terrorism that the U.S. won't give in to them. Of course that can't be done because Islamic fanatics can't be reasoned with in any manner shape or form...short of a few well-placed tactical nuclear weapons.

Yes, and that's why the American troops have made such inroads towards peace and understanding. there is no civil war there, it is all liberal hogwash. American GIs are loved by the Iraqis and they are all offering their daughters up for marriage to them. Anything else is liberal propaganda

And I am the reincarnation of Indira Gandhi, or was it Cleopatra, or maybe both. where are my meds?
