Whisk her away? Why? To where? What does that mean? You're not some knight in shining armor on a white horse ready to scoop down rescue this girl. She doesn't need rescue -- she needs guidance about meeting a man on line who has obviously gone overboard in his affection for this virtual stranger.
If her parents need her at home to help with her other sisters then that is where she should be and you need to cool your jets and learn more about the situation before you make yourself very unpopular with her parents and her family and, maybe, cause a terrible rift in their family life.
Ask if you can meet her family and get to know them before you put on your armor and get the horse out of the barn!

I think it is respectful when trying to start a family of your own to be respectful of the family that she is coming from. After all, would you want some guy doing the same thing to your daughter if you were the father? Hard to say at this point perhaps, but you need to show real respect for her family. Remember that you are not only marrying her in the long run, but you are arrying her family. And even if you are not planning to marry, your involvement is still considered to be with her and her family.
I think if you really loved her, then you should express your love (and gratitude) for her family as well. This will help to gain the approval of her family, if you are lacking in that so far.

Well why not have your cake and eat it too? You can still be with her and love her without 'wisking her away' as you say her family needs her. But remember if you really truely love her, you need her too. So why not try and talk to her family about it and try and achieve a balance? Ask if you guys can see eachother on a regular basis between her studies. And promise her family she'll still be there for them until they can get on their own two feet. But tell them you love her and want to be with them they should understand :)

James,
If you have only talked over the Internet then, yes, it is way too early to whisk her away. I think a lot depends on the difference in your ages and experience. If said girl is in high school and you are 25, then yes, you are asking for trouble.
You are going to avoid a lot of problems if you are open and honest with her and her parents. If you are great son-in-law material, they will welcome you as an asset.
If you're just a jerk with slimy intentions, isn't she better off without you?

well, How old are you and the girl? Wisking her away isn't going to help if she doesn't feel the same about you. And if you LOVE her you should stand by her, until she ready. Unless, you are looking to advance the relationship further ...Right Now!

aha! as long as you'll help her finish schooling first to be able to help her siblings. inspire and be her friend..with love i guess. its normal for parents to pass the responsibility to their children specially if they are *&^%(. so you really need to undertand her and why not help her family. if you really love the gal why don't you help her financialy. that would help a lot.
