Because God is a fantasy. if you pray to God and things come about favorably believers praise God, yet when they don't go their way...they say it wasn't God's will. its an excuse that neatly fits into a pretty package to explain away the rights and wrongs of the world.

Well, if there is a God, there are several possibilities. There is my belief, which does not insist that God must exist, that says something (possibly God) set everything in motion, right at the beginning. One incident that would set off a chain reaction, forming a 'causal web' of interacting incidents, thereby determining everything that would ever happen, in the universe as we know it. This means that if there is a God, he/she/it is not acting on our current reality any more than one would act on any given domino, other than the first, in a chain of them.

The possibility also exists that God is impacting our reality, some of us just don't realize it. And I'm sure that will be mentioned or implied by a lot of simple-minded people who've managed to delude themselves into thinking that they know God exists, and that he/she/it is responsible for anything they don't fully understand.

Of course, this question is invalid, to begin with. Because we cannot know and comprehend both circumstances, to weigh one against the other. If God does not exist, there is no telling what things would be like if he/she/it did. And if he/she/it does exist, again, there is no telling what reality would be like without him/her/it.

I don't agree with you. I believe that God's impact on our reality made it what it is. There is no alternative reality to compare in which a God does not exist. It's because of God that there is reality. In fact, I would argue God is the only reality. We and all on the earth are not reality as we at one time did not exist and a time will come when we will again cease to exist. God, on the other hand, has always existed and will always exist. Therefore, we are not reality, just an illusion in space and time. anything we do while we are here can be destroyed and forgotten, but God's power and influence will continue to exist forever.

...Well, sometimes it appears to us that there is no god. There are such ghory incidents that make you feel...how such things can happen in a world created by god.
God doesn't interfare in this worldly activities directly. He has given all it's powers to the human beings. Now it is up to us that how we use this power. When someone uses his powers for the good...the result is beauty and peace. When someone uses his powers for the wrong...the result is pain and devastation.
in the end it is a man run world, and between them there is competition, jealousy, and hate. All this anarchy is a result of our evil feelings.
....Last but not the least...when god decides to punish us...he fulfills whatever we wish...like the story..."once a king wished that whatever he touched becomes gold...god fulfilled. What was the result you can imagine, when he touched his food it became gold, his children feared his touch 'coz it would transform them into gold... and so on.
so believe me, there is god. The only thing is that -"HE DOESN'T CARE MUCH ABOUT OUR WORLDLY RIGHTS OR WRONGS, WHEN WE DO THE RIGHT HE IS HAPPY AND WHEN WE DO WRONG HE FEELS SORRY" AND ULTIMATELY HE GIVES JUSTICE TO ALL. NO BODY HAVING ANY AMOUNT OF POWER EVER EVADED HIS JUSTICE.

Because the likelyhood is that even if there is actually no God, people would have invented one any way to explain the unknown, remember the Christian God is not the first god to exist in history, people have worshipped many different gods throughout the centuries to help them understand the world around them.

So the reality of the existence of God is irrelevant ,the beleif that there is a god would exist independent of him actually "being" and therefore his existence on our reality would be the same if he did exist and if he did not exist.

Your question is basically the same as a Fish (that is swimming in the ocean) asking "how come there is no water here"... (no offense meant).

We live and we move and we have our being because God sustains us from moment to moment.

Please be aware that there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

How do you know wether or not there is a god, how could you compare? I personally BELIEVE there isn't one but that doesn't mean I'm right. It doesn't mean a giant penis didn't create the earth either though. My advice for everyone: QUIT SUPPORTING YOUR GUESSES AS FACTS! They are beliefs and that is it. Kno1 can possibly answer these questions.

Quoting you of course:

"God's impact on our reality"

Take as long as you like to think about the remarks.

It seems the same I guess.

GOD is Embodiment of truth.
You and me are created by god in his IMAGE(knowledge, discerning). God's greatest GIFT to mankind is Conscience. for example. see some tribal people who lives in remote settlements, might have never read the moral books like us. but still they follow certainly moral values(may be some).
What is mean by reality? your reality is based on what? is it based on your own belief then you are WRONG. Truth is absolute. reality should be related to that. then only you are RIGHT.

The reality if there were no God is that there would be no you, no earth, no universe, no nothing. This isn't the matrix and no you can leap over buildings either.
