Hi, I recommand you to try google picasa.
picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.
It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video clips.
It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google

It's your enviornment, your room needs more light, unless there is a brightness control on the webcam, maybe it's your comptuer screen.

either need more light or u r recording against the bright back ground something like shooting against the sun.
