Your puppy needs three rounds of vaccinations in the next few months for immunity to common canine diseases. Rabies vaccination is legally required because of the human health issues it poses - and is usually done at the 3rd puppy visit, and after 16 weeks old. So, your dog needs to go to the vet. The vet will likely tell you to have him neutered between 4 and 7 months of age, but it will depend on the size and breed of the dog, whether the testicles have descended, and possibly other issues. Some rescue associations neuter at much younger ages to make sure it gets done before the pet can reproduce.

We have a new puppy and he is also 11 weeks old. The book the breeder gave us says that puppies should be fixed at about six months of age. I hope this helps. Good luck!

have done research and it depends on the breed of the dog.some people say to wait till at least 1 year old even though a vet will tell you 6 months old.and some breeds you need to wait till they are 1 1/2 years old. it has to do with if you want to have a male dog that looks like a female or not.if you get them fixed to early they do not get the hormones that they need in order to have the right amount of muscle and bone growth.do some research on your own online and see for your self.try the web site dogbreedinfo.com and see what you find.

6 months is the age most vets recommend for neutering. But he will need a series of shots starting asap, and should have a checkup on his general health as well as being checked for worms. Bless you for giving him a good home! 8)

the vet should be more on the money when it comes to aging your dog. and then at the same time give you advice on when to get. but I would say about 6 months of age Usually the dog becomes less aggressive and more placid
The dog is less likely to wander and chase bitches on heat
Many councils charge more for entire (i.e. undesexed) males
Desexing prevents tumours of the testicles
Desexing reduces the incidences of problems occurring in the prostate gland, perineal hernias, and hormone-related tumours

He should be old enough to get fixed you may want to do it as soon as possible because the larger they get the more it costs

Take it to the Vet now.
The vet can estimate the age by it's eyes, and teeth.
Also vaccinate it "as it probably needs it now".
The Vet can say when it can be neutered.
