Depend on the state you live in! Check the local DMV.
Example: In NC there is a graduated license program. You can get a permit as young as 15 years of age, if you follow certain rules, pass some tests, and take a class. If you drop out of school, don't take driver's education, or don't meet some requirements (ex: go to jail, etc.) then you have to wait until you are 18 to get your license. If you don't pass the tests then it doesn't matter how old you are you still can't drive legally!

16, here in Texas you have to take a course before you take the drivers licece test . If you dont pay to take it you have to wait intill you turn 18 to get a licence.

Depends on the state, but for most you need to be 15 for a learner's permit and 16 for a full license

I think it depends on the state. In most states it's 16 I think. 15 1/2 for a permit though. That's what I think it is. :)
