Hey I've got a great fishing story for you! It gives me great pleasure to share this story because it is about my grandmother that just passed away on July 19th. It reminds me of the good times. Anyway, on with the story. My grandmother,my cousin, & I went fishing at a very large river close to my house about 2 yrs. ago. I got a bite and I thought it was a really big fish, so while I'm fighting to get the fish in I started screaming for them to look at the same time my cousin began to scream help! I thought he was just messing around. I keep fighting the fish. What I did not relize was my cousin was screaming because my granny had slipped down the muddy bank and he was trying to get her out! at that time he strted to go down with her. I finally relized that he really needed help after they both fell in the mudd & the water and I got the fish in that ended up being about a 2 pound catfish. The family still teases me about wanting to catch a little fish instead of keeping my grandmother from falling in the river.

I went fishing off of sandy hook, NJ, with my father and neighbor. My father just had surgery done on his shoulder, and my neighbor broke his wrist. We ended up beaching the boat because of a bad storm that hit us, the boat was old, and had problems starting. we spent about an hour pushing the boat off land. once we got it out of the sand a little, we had my father get in the boat, and I had to push the boat out by myself because my neighbor couldn't get his cast wet. Once I finally got the boat out far enough, I hopped in. My neighbor had to swim to the boat with one arm out of the water, and swim with the other. He couldn't get into the boat with his one arm, so I had to grab him from under his arm pits, pick him up out of the water ( around 220lbs wet) and throw him in the boat like a beached whale.
If you want to hear something funny, here you go. as of this day, my father, neighbor and I should be the state record holders for blue fish of 29 lbs 2 oz. The current state record is 27 lbs 1 oz. We ate the fish that night when we got home, and finding out 3 months later that what we ate was a state record.
I have a lot more stories, but I am at work, and need to actually work a little. Hope you enjoy my story.

Recently, my family and I traveled back to my old hometown for a wedding. We spent over a week there, for we had not been back for several years. (It is over a thousand miles from where I now live). While there, my brother took us camping and fishing at a local lake that I spent countless hours at when I was a kid. We were having a very successful trip, having caught several nice crappie, some very large catfish, and a number of good largemouth bass in the two days we had been there, and on the last morning, my 15 year old son, my brother, and I were out on the boat at daybreak.
We had catfish rods out and were throwing lures for bass when my son started hollering from the back of the boat that he had a big one. From the way it was fighting, my brother judged that he had a turtle (it wasn't moving, it had dug itself into the bottom). My brother grabbed his rod, and proceeded to free it from the bottom, and began to reel it up to the boat. My son was excited to hear he had caught a turtle. The only turtles he had ever seen were box turtles and painted turtles, which at the max are the size of a paper plate. What he had was a nasty, ugly, huge (about two feet across the shell, the neck was as big around as a radiator hose) snapping turtle. As the turtle neared the boat, my son leaned over the side to see that turtle, and asked if we could keep it. When the head of the turtle emerged from the muddy water with a big hiss, and he saw the claws and the sized of it, he freaked out so bad that he flipped backwards and into the water on the other side of the boat!!!!
He was screaming "It's going to get me!! HELP ME!!! We were laughing so hard we hardly composed ourselves to get him out of the water. It was the most memorable trip I have ever been on.

the 1st fish I ever had grew to become right into a purple Betta referred to as Apple Smoothie. He lived for 5 years. He enjoyed little tiny products of Francis Bacon for his afternoon tea (not daily inspite of the incontrovertible fact that). :) He lived in a 10 gallon tank together with his very own heater, clear out and air pump, not a jar, this is why he lived for see you later i assume, lol. Now I definitely have an aquarium with approximately 11 fish, and that i´m making plans on including yet another Betta.
