You just put your fingers on the planchet and ask.

Ouija boards are merely a tool of the unconscious. They reflect the thoughts of the user as the user moves the planchet. They are still fun to play with. Just realize, they don't actually do anything.

I think Penn & Teller did a show on this in their second season. They had a group use a oujia board to see if they would channel anything. Then they had the group do the same with blindfolds. What they didn't tell the group was that the board was upside down while they were using it, so the anwers they were getting were as if the board was right-side up.

Their conclusion was that the board was more or less a product of collective behaviour, and not of channeling anything beyond human.

If you need advice on the board, the only thing I can say is don't take any advice you may get from it.

There is a reason why most of the people are telling you to stay away from it! It is not good! There have been thousands of cases of people messing with them that have become haunted or possessed afterwards. You know "The Exorcist" ? Based on a true story, guess how that boy got possessed? Yup you guessed it, Quija board. Seriously, it is not a game, I've been haunted three times in my life and there is nothing in this world that can make you so incredibly scared as can an evil spirit with and axe to grind. It is beyond anything you can imagine unless it actually happens to you! I'm a big boy, and I'm not scared of much in this world but when it happened to me, I couldn't sleep with the lights off, even when someone was in the room with me. I had someone/something hovering right above me with their face not more then a few inches from my face just radiating evil. When I finally would fall asleep from exhaustion I'd hear evil voices screaming at me, mocking me, threatening me everything you can imagine. Real voices, not imaginary. This is a fear that is unlike anything else, it's not like fearing death or fearing heights, it's like pure evil fear. No matter how brave you are you can't just ignore it. The dreams were the worst, I cannot even write them down. It's just not worth it man. DON'T TRY IT!!

let put it this way,how do not believe in God,but you believe in demons, and people that you can contact through a Ouija board ,now that sounds pretty messed up,if you don't believe in the here after who do you think you are contacting the neighbors, and this is a new cell phone device,i think you don't know what you are doing, and that's very dangerous, with this board, you could and as stupid as you sound, will bring a demon through the board, then, you are screwed fella, especially since you've no protection, you are a professing atheist,my advice to you is leave the board alone and find out what you do believe, because you are just fresh, innocent soul to poses for a demon

If you were really an atheist, you wouldn't believe in demons.

When using a OuiJa board, you need to have at least one and preferably two other people involved. One person using it by themselves, can become "possessed" by another spirit or demonic presence, or so the legend goes.

It's a toy, about as accurate as the 8 ball.

I'm not Christian so don't think I'm saying this from a religious perspective but........

It's not a good idea to mess with a ouija board unless you're an expert in the craft. Metaphysically you'd be opening a "door" and good or bad came come through it. If you are going to use it at least spend 5 minutes beforehand meditating.

Not something I'd recommend "playing" with or "dabbling" with.

If you don't believe it works, why bother? If nothing else, nothing will happen and you'll go "See, I knew it was garbage" anyway.

If you do believe it might work, then you're not as much of an atheist as you claim. If when we die "that's it", then how can you contact a specific person? If there's no supernatural powers, then how can you contact a demon?

My own beliefs are that yes, there are things out there that you can contact, and if you don't know what you're doing, they can screw with you in some fun ways - some of them harmless, some of them not so harmless. Therefore, it's not something that should be "played" with or "dabbled" with.

You are an Atheist, you don't believe in God yet you do believe in demons or people after death? I agree with you in one regard and that is that there exist a spirit world apart from the physical world we dwell in and upon death we transcend from the physical world to the spiritual world. I do though believe that spiritual warfare exist in that spiritual world between God and Satan and that demons and angels do war and battle around us daily. Ouija boards are used by those that seek to be active participants with those in the spirit world seeking interaction between them and you using the Ouija board in hopes that with cooperation between the spirit world (demons, ghost, etc) and you that you come upon answers to certain questions.

Many that do believe in demons, as I do, believe also that there is the potential for them to actually possess a human body and inhabit that body along with the person's internal spirit. For the Christian God's Holy Spirit lives and dwells within our bodies with our spirit. For someone that doesn't not know Christ or God then it is possible for a demon to enter into your body as well. Many feel Ouija boards are dangerous because they open a path and way for the demonic world to enter into humans. That's speculation and not fact. The actual contact would be in that a spirit, (demon etc) would actually interact with you at the time you sought to interact with them using the Ouija board. I'm amazed constantly though how a person can believe in evil or demons without belief in their counterparts such as angels and God and Satan as well.

Don't Do It! They are gateways to very lost and wicked spirits who will only cause you HARM. If you want to communicate, the safest way is to pick up a pendulum and an alphabet chart. The pendulum will be made of crystal or wood and therefore will filter out 90% of the lesser entities that will try to come to you if you open yourself up to communications.

I don't recommend using them.

They are realistic and use demonic influences.

When I was about 11 years old, I asked it who I would marry. It gave me my future husband's name, and I did not meet him for almost 12 more years. So they are NOT fake. But I felt strange after using one and I don't feel comfortable with them.

I've also heard from other people about some scary stuff that comes from this.

Stay away from them.
