But can you love someone and have no respect for them? I don't think so. If you do then sorry but I don't think that really love. Sure you can respect people but that doesn't mean you have to love them. But you can't love someone without respecting them because then you wouldn't care too much about their thoughts and opinions would you. You would probably feel as though they weren't that great of a human being or a big joke. I'd take the true love anyday. The I'd know I was loved by somebody and greatly respected.

I believe I am respected by a lot of people that I know...work colleagues and friends. However, I can't be loved by anyone unless that person respects me, so I think while love and respect are different, I can't have love without respect.

Do I love everyone I respect? No. However, I can't love someone unless I respect him first.

I look at it this way (I maybe wrong) respect falls in the same line as love.
Now I have been married for 12 years and I don't respect everything (his ways at times) my husband does and he knows this.
Dang this is a hard question to answer.

True love comes with respect. I choose that over anything else. But if i had no other choice i would rather be respected than loved by someone who couldn't offer me the respect i deserve.

I think I would like to be love and respected. Coz love have so many kind of ways. There are some people who loves but doesn't respect others will. It would be like having no freedom in your life.

Real respect IS NOT fearful feelings towards figures of authority.

Real respect comes out of love because you are honoring all the qualities in others and you don't want to interfere with that so your respect.

And there can't be any real love without feeling first deep respect for your beloved.

I think if you are respected by people then some of them will have a type of love towards you just because of your reputation of being respected. That love isn't a sexual thing, it's just a love that endures due to you being a good person. Respect is what I'd take, if I could only chose one. good luck

I would want to be respected first then loved b/c to respect someone is A very big thing if you don't then they wont respect you and wouldn't want to love someone who doesn't respect you, respect comes first then comes love. but also you can love someone but not respect them or the decisions they make or the things they do.
