It's pick and mix religion. You chose what you want to believe in and, since there is no set scripture or set of beliefs, you can call yourself a wiccan and no one can argue with you.
It's not so much evil as rather silly.

NO it's not evil!!!! We are NOT devil-worshippers (we do not even recognize Satan), nor do we sacrifice babies and goats or do any other of those crazy things. There are people who USE it for evil and selfish purposes, but that is not the way!!!
Wicca / Wicce / Witchcraft is an Earth-centered, Nature-based path which promotes the healing of the Earth and those around us, as well as spiritual attainment - the uplifting of one's soul, so to speak.
If you're making your judgements based off what you see on TV and in the mall, then you're being steered the wrong way.
It is popular because people unfortunately think they can just spout off a spell, burn some incense and automatically be rich or find the love of their life. It doesn't work that way! Magick is a very slow and subtle process by which the energies around us (and we are all made of energy, as is every other living thing) are channeled and manipulated with the intention of "setting things right."
It is not about binding and banishing except in very urgent circumstances when such would be for the betterment of all (for example, keeping a known child molester or rapist out of your neighborhood). In NO way is wicca to be used to harm any other living thing. We abide very strictly to the Law of Three - Three times bad and three times good - meaning what we do in practise come back to us threefold.

Most Wiccans practice Witchcraft but so do a lot of other Pagans. There are a lot of reasons it is popular now - it is a very tolerant religion so is attractive to those other religions have cast out; some use it as a form of rebellion and some go for the allure of spells and majick. Really the latter couple groups are in it for the wrong reasons and generally leave when the novelty wears off.

Wicca is different that witchcraft...witchcraft practices spells...you don't have to do spells to be Wicca....its not evil, in the Wiccan rede, sort of like the ten commandments, says "an it harm none, do what ye will" so its not evil...some people are drawn to it because of shows like Buffy and charmed, some(like me) just believe in a more nature based religion...we still believe in a god, but we also believe in a goddess and some believe in a spirit too...

Because it is. Wicca is not evil and it is not the same as Witchcraft. Witchcraft is the practice of magick and can be practiced by anyone of any religion. Wicca is a nature based polytheistic religion our basic law the wiccan rede says "An it harm none do what thou will". Blessed be (thats a Wiccan blessing). )O(

witchcraft and wicca aren't the same thing....are they? People look to wicca religion because of its peaceful accepting nature.
..and why people go to witchcraft?? umm, perhaps they are looking for something to empower them and or fufill them.
Now is it evil. Personally my faith lies in the son Jesus. I think witchcraft is a serious thing that should not be fooled around with......and the wicca..Honestly I do not have enough knowledge on the subject to judge it evil or good. BUT Jesus did say if you are not for me you are against me...............

Wicca is not evil. They do not believe in God or the devil.
They do believe in the plurality of good and evil. Their gods can be both good and evil, depending on what they do.
They are popular because their religion appeals to many people. They don't preach that you have to believe what they do or you burn in hell forever. Nor will you ever see a Wicca blow themselves up just to kill non Wiccans.

wiccan's are hippies with 9 volt batterys lmao im only playing wiccans are not evil there actuly really nice ppl my sister and several family members are wicca's i read/practis wicca and several othere culters im a pagan and some lol but ignore most of the bad crap you hear ppl talk bad about them cause they fear what they don't understand to find out more about it just look it up

Witchcraft is popular because the supernatural is attractive to many of us.
Witchcraft can open us up to involvement with spirit beings (demons) who can deceive us regarding the nature of reality.
