If you think you were wrong and want to apologize, yes. Otherwise, let it be.

Go for it. During the heat of the moment, people will say things that they do not mean

Is your friend important to you? If yes, definitely mail that person. They say "Say it when you feel it". SO if you feel like mailing your friend, go ahead, do it. Even if it does not work, you would at least have tried.

No--if he regretted what he said in the heat of the argument, he will apologize for his behavior and resume the friendship.

Sounds to me like he doesn't want any contact with you.
An e-mail probably isn't the best idea but if you absolutely have to talk to him, you should go ahead with it.

you should definitely email him....its less intrusive than a phone call...plus you can really think about what u wanna say without the nervousness of hearing his voice...believe me, he will read it whether he responds or not...so make it good...good luck

No....he's recognized, that he needs a time-out. Let him cool down. When he's ready , he'll talk.

I'd say go for it. The worst thing that could happen... he won't email you back. :)
