That the lives we live, here and now are not all there is to our existence? That the earth really is a school, and our purpose here is to better our spiritual selves? That heaven, whether you perceive it to be full of fluffy white clouds and angels, or reunion with long-passed loved ones, or God, is not full of people whom disparage each other because of religion, creed, race, or sexual preference? That reincarnation is real ("energy and matter are never destroyed, they merely change form"), and the only salvation for humankind? That the real lesson of Jesus's life and death was his achievement of the Christ Consciousness, and his triumph over the bonds of materiality and crass physical life ("rising from the dead")? That karma ("for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction") is neither good, nor bad, it just "is"? That if your life is going badly now, you and only you are to blame, and only you can fix it? That we won't be able to leave here until we undertand?

How come we don't understand that the things we despise most in other people are the things we secretly hate most about ourselves?

The difference between spirituality & religion is the same difference between experience & blind faith.

There really are more things in heaven & earth than are dreamed of in our philosophies, so, yes; I readily concede that the universe is larger than our capacity to fully understand it.

For those who don’t believe in anything, & demand proof of belief, I submit to you, prove that any of the things you disbelieve DO NOT exist.

Religion, like all human institutions, is prone to corruption over time, & practice. Rather, one should try to cleave more to spirituality, & less to organized religion, as one is based on visceral personal experience, while the other is subject to the subjection, interpretation, & will of others, whom may or may not have the practitioner’s best interest at heart. As such, I practice spirituality & spiritual evolution, not religion, nor do I expound any particular religion over the other.

Amaara, what I have experienced, as opposed to what you think I believe, more than likely, falls within the realm of “more things in heaven & earth…” than are dreamed of in YOUR philosophies…

Maybe we're not built to understand, maybe we are and are slowly grasping the truth inch by inch, human by human, a slow, spiritual evolution (if you will)

wow....you seem to believe that you hold the key to the universe and it's mysteries. and all you have to back it up is the ability to type out a question on yahoo answers. Jesus, my friend, claimed to be God! He declared himself the way, the truth, and the light! and he stated that NO ONE can get to the father...except through him. now, that either makes him God.....or a crazy psyco.....but he also stated that he would rise from the dead after three days.....there are books written about this miracle from people who claimed to witness the event-some of them died telling the story. why? why would people die for a story that wasn't true? for a crazy man who claimed to be God?
Why are people such as yourself turn to believe in false religeons so quickly! religeons that have no base, that have no proof or evidence of anykind? The reaason your life is going so badly is not so much your fault (though I agree that most people make their own problems) but it's also because of our unwillingness to seek out the true God of creation. The facts are all around us. The facts have been written down in history! but we allow those who wish to distort the truth to bellow out their vomit onto society.....and society eats it up!

By Jove, I think you've GOT IT! Seriously. If you believe the Bible, it is unfolding as predicted, as it should. Judas had to betray Jesus so he could die and arise, otherwise it is just a good philosophy that he gave us. Stand back and create your reality by focusing on you want to focus on and CREATE. Paint, write, something, it opens a thread to that universal power. Give praise in everything you do, be it only a sinkful of dishes to be washed. Everything is a lesson to be learned, some minds are just closed, we can't force them to see.

We understand it just like we understand any fairy tale. Do you have any proof or even the tiniest bit of evidence that:

- Earth is a "school"?
- There is a heaven?
- Reincarnation is real?
- Jesus ever exited?
- Jesus was son of god?

No, you don't. Your claims have just as much validity as the Scientologist's.

This is precisely what we're all trying to learn. Based on your question, your learning lesson has got to be patience and non-judgement. Everyone will come around in their own time, and they can't be rushed or forced. You didn't know that? Patience is a virtue.

That is very insightful - some of the points - reincarnation, self responsibility, karma - very close to what i believe.

Sounds as if your hodge-podge questions means that you are confused about what you really believe in. I would suggest to you that search to find yourself and discover what you really believe in. You would find great meaning to your life that way.
