The spacer is a small rubber band that was placed between her molar. It spit down the middle near the surface of the tooth. Do I have to take her back to the orthodontist to get it replaced or will it be ok for the rest of the week?

I remember when I had my spacers put in... a while ago. I am pretty sure that my orthodontist had told me that it was fine if they came out. The best way to know would be to call your ortho. Since it is still in I don't think there's much of a problem. The spacers are bigger than the amount of space the ortho needs to put the brackets on the tooth. I am not a Dr. though, I am just telling from personal experience.
Good Luck! The spacers are the worst part of braces

You should take her back. If the spacer broke, it is no longer creating enough force to separate the teeth. When your daughter goes back in a week to get her bands put on, one of them might not have enough sapce to fit between the teeth and then she'll just have to go home with a spacer for another week. Trust me. The orthodontist will be GLAD you called to get this thing replaced ASAP.

Yes, you should take he to her dentist/orthodontist that put them in. Those dental spacers are there so they can make space to put these metal things on the back tooth and without them they would not be able to put those metal thing around her back teeth for the braces to be put on. These are very important so call her dentist and ask them when you can bring her in. They should be able to replace it very quickly. Hope this helps!

If it's still making a space in between her two molars, it should be fine. But just in case, call them and ask. Because if it needs to be replaced and it isn't, you'll postpone the braces process. Good luck

Why don't you give the clinic a call and ask them for their advice.
