Before issuing the "green card", they send them a letter of approval and also a social security card marked suitable for work.
Then the green card is mailed to them, not picked up.

They receive a stamp in their passport that states "Processed for I-551" and the stamp has a number in it starting with the letter "A".

how about "hey, you got a green card"
If he just says "que?", you may want to question that. lol

Ask if he speaks English.
If he doesn't answer, then put him in a truck and ship him back to Mexico.
