Why is it popular? Probably because insecure fluff-bunnies want to be special.
Do we believe we can put spells on people? Yes.
Do we worship the devil? No. (At least, not most of us. It's not part of the religion.)
Are we all women? Nope, I'm a man.
Do we have orgies and kill children? Not religiously. I've done neither. Some have probably had orgies. Sounds like fun to me. Some have probably killed - they belong in prison.

Are they a bunch of deluded witches? No, not generally.
Why is it so popular? There are a number of reasons, but the main one is probably because it's not a patriarchial religion like the Abrahamic ones, and it recognizes the Divine Feminine as well as the Divine Masculine. If you're actually serious about learning more, there are many, many websites out there that can help illuminate you.
Do they believe they can put spells on people? Can we? Yes. Do we? Only insofar as it doesn't violate the Rede, which says to harm none.
Do they worship the devil? No. "The devil" is a concept from the Christian mythos. It's hard to worship an entity you don't believe in.
Are they all women? Nope. In fact, the founders of the main traditions (Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Seax) were men, and some of the most widely recommended authors (Cunningham, Nichols) are men. There is a higher percentage of women than men in Wicca, see above re: Divine Feminine.
Do they have orgies and kill children? Nope.

Witches & Metaphysical Folk are not deluded. No more than any other path, walk or religion.
Popular: Because it allows an individual to seek out the 'Divine' in their own way and at their own pace.
Spells: Yes they are real. They are merely prayers with props. A way to focus their prayers with catalyst and energy to become more effective.
The Devil: They do not acknowledge that the Devil even exist. So no. Satan is a New Testment thought. The enitity 'Satan' & the concept of Hell was no where to be found in the Old Testament.
All Women: No. Due to the growth it is now 60% women & 40% men. It appeals to women because it includes the feminine side of the Divine, where Christianity has only included the male side.
Most metaphysical paths observe duality.
Orgies & Killing Children: They regard sex as sacred. I personally have never been to an orgy & I have been a metaphysical High Priestess for 9 years. No, they do not kill ANYTHING. All of life is holy, sanctified & sacred. Most metaphysical folks are bound a creed of rules to HARM NOTHING..........So don't judge something you do NOT understand. If you are a Christian, you know that this is God's job, not yours.
You have been watching too much TV & too many movies. Hollywood has made metaphysical folks appear evil, distorted or against God. Many, not all, still worship the God of the Bible in their practices...
It can & does co-exist together. The Kabbalah (Jewish Mysticism) has been around for thousands of years. You've probably heard the word "Kabbalah". Some famous celebs, like Madonna, among others, worship this way. These practices were about the Bible and the use of mysticism & magick together. It teaches that YHWH God is both male & female: IE: HEBREW:The Mother Goddess-Sophia, the Father God-YHWH, The Son Lord Yeshua (Jesus) & the Daughter Lady Wisdom (the Holy Spirit) Similiar to Christian-Wiccan Beliefs.
Principles easily incorporated with Wiccan beliefs. Example: EGYPTIAN: The Mother Goddess- Isis, the Father God-Osiris, the Son-Horus, the Daughter-Bast, and many other: GREEK: Zeus, Hera, Apollo, Athena.
There are millions of Metaphysical-Esoteric Christians out there. I am one of them.
I have been a High Priestess of a multi-mixed denomonation metaphysical group for 9 years.
We have Christians, Wiccans & Mystic that all practice together.
We use prayers & catalysts: Candles, incense, holy water, cakes & wine (communion), herbs, stones, wands, etc...
I am also a bible college grad & the author of the book "The Christian Craft".

The Hebrew word for witchcraft meant people who use poisons or to drug someone, to do them harm, evil or to kill them.
These mixed paths do exist. Do some research.........

Wicca is an earth centered religion that worships the forgotten Gods/GOddesses of Christianity. WIcca is not Evil in any way! We do not even believe in the devil! The spells that you refer to are nothing asking for something GOOD, similar to prayers in Christianity, only centered around the Earth. No, we are not all women, there are many men, yes straight ones, too, that are Wiccan. No, we do not have orgies and kill children. We believe in the three-fold law which is harm none, do as you will, but remember that you get what you give three-fold, good or bad. As to why is it the fastest growing religion? I think that people just want to go back to the old traditions and the old religions.

not all are deluded some probably are same can be said for muslims and christians and probably Budists. SPells on people well yes most do believe that though a few probably do not. Wicca is a very broad and open religion kinda like Christianity is really open. look at the difference between methodist, baptist, catholics and a good all snake handler. well wicca has a lot of different sects to it as well. The Devil is a christian concept. Read the Holy Bible you will find mention of the devil and Satan or lucifer. Read a Wiccan text and you will find no mention of devils. also Satanism is a christian religion. after all if you believe in Jesus you kinda have to believe in Satan. and vice-versa. Christian is defined as believing that Christ is your savior. not in agreeing to follow his teachings. not all of us are women. Some probably have Orgies and I am sure that some have killed children. but then again same can be said for people of most any religion. if you look at alt.com for an orgie I bet most people claim to be Christian. and over 90% of convicted Serial Killers are Christians. 0% are wiccan/Budhist. If you would like to know more you might try religious tolerance website or reading a book like True Magick by Amber K.

Even Paul said that the Athenians worshipped the same God as they did. Read:
"Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, `Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, The One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you" (Acts 17:22-23)

1. Why is it so popular? It is an open religion that allows people to think about religion and philosophy in an intelligent and personal way. It also offers equality between male and female dieties.
2. Do they believe they can put spells on people? Well first I should say that magick is more like active prayer or meditation than what you see on Harry Potter or Charmed. Secondly, although casting spells on other people is possible, Most Wiccans take a vow that prevents us from harming others. The Wiccan Rede says "An Harm Ye None, Do What thou Will." That means that magickally and non magickally we agree not to harm others, That mean not messing with their free will, even though we think we might know best for them. Because all people are responsible for their own destiny. To take that away from them is harming them.
3. Do they worship the Devil? There is no Devil or absolute form of evil or good in Wicca. Wicca is a nature worshipping religion, Nature is both good and bad for us. Take water for example. Water is nourishing, cleansing and comfortable, but it's also Hurricane Katrina, it can carry viruses and disease and we can drown in it. Therefore Water is neither Good Nor Evil. We just don't think that absolutes exist in this world or in the next.
4. Wiccans are about 70% women according to recent surveys. As mentioned above, Wicca reguards women and men equally. But I do think that their non exclusion of the female divinity is what draws more women in.
5. As mentioned earlier, our Wiccan Rede prevents us from doing harm. So we do not kill children. As for orgies. Wiccans revere sex as a sacred act that has magickal powers and can help divine energy with magickal workings and rituals. Therefore, there are covens who use sex in their rituals, It is not considered evil or bad or dirty to have sex. Instead sex is celebrated like any other priveledge of being human. Like dancing or eating.

Wicca is "fastest growing religion" by percentages, not by numbers... thirty years ago, there were barely a thousand self-declared Wiccans in America (maybe less); today, there are tens of thousands. (Est. about 42,000.) That's a growth of, wow, 4000%! Of course it's fastest-growing. No other religion has multiplied its followers by 40.
Of course, they're still less than half a percentage point of the American population. And Islam has gained many thousands, maybe millions more followers in the same time... but since Islam was already very large, it doesn't show up as fastest *percentage* growth.
The "fastest growing" claim isn't exactly a lie... but it's a statistics interpretation, rather than what most people would call "truth."

Wicca and witchcraft are two different types of religions.
Wicca is more Pagan in nature than Witchcraft even though they share many similar beliefs.
Both are remnants of prechristian religions that believers are trying to resurrect from fragments of books and tales.
As to your other questions. yes they believe that .but they also believe in the law of three fold return . If you try to harm a person with a spell you will have it returned to you three fold by thee Idea of the CREATOR.
They do not believe in the christian devil. but they do believe that there is evil in the world most caused by mankind its self without any help from an outside source.
Depends on the coven . some are all all female others all male and some are mixed . which sex has promadence depends on the wheel of the year. so it is passed from one to the other.
Some have orgies during Lugansad so their children will be born in the spring . a time of beginning again.
No they do not kill children. that is done in Satanism

OK, I don't know where you've gotten all your information but you're completely and utterly wrong!!! Wicca is just another form of worshiping a higher power that happens to believe in a Female and Male aspect of god...if you did your research you would find that one of the basic principles is NOT TO HARM anyone!!! so as far as killing children, you couldn't be farther from the truth!!! Some people do use spells...but not on other people...its not right and against our principles!!! as far as worshiping the devil goes, get you're religions straight...satanists worship the devil...not Wiccans! They don't have orgies....not all are women...I personally know male wiccans. So please do all wiccans a favor and if you're curious as to what it is, go google it or ask someone who knows about it before you make all these bogus assumptions...
