Kent Hovind is largely responsible for the young earth creationist movement. Will his arrest for tax evasion open the eyes of those he has deceived?

I'm no fan of the IRS, but just read this and see what "Dr." Dino has to say in his own words.

Geeze some of you are like little kids that must be explained each detail. So here they are then; Kent Hovind sells creation "science". Kent Hovind is found to be a charlatan in one aspect of his life. People who are dishonest in one aspect of life are typically dishonest in all aspects of life. Odds are good then that he was dishonest about what he teaches regarding creation science. Those who accepted what he said about creation science at face value would be wise to question what he told them, because he may well have been lying about that too. Is that simple enough now for cripes sake?

Open what eyes? The kind of person that is able to embrace creationism is probably too naive, or scared to even consider that they are being duped and used. People like that only see what they are willing, or wanting to see. I work with a guy from this mindset, and he is hopeless. He's smart, and I like him a lot as a person, but if he wants to believe in fairytales, nothing like reality, facts, or logic is going to have ANY effect.

Tax fraud and how the earth was created are two very different subjects, at least the last time I looked. One has nothing (or extremely little) to do with the other. So, why should arrest for tax fraud change one's mind as to how the earth was created?

I do empathize with him as an individual, but his arrest does not change my viewpoint.

I am not a young earth creationist.

I subscribe to old-earth step-wise creation.

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Cordially,

So if I can find a leading Darwinist who's screwed up too, then Darwinists should convert to creationism?

Fortunately logic this erroneous is not common among Darwinists in general.

I find it funny that he claimes everything he owns belongs to god, but dought that it will convert anyone. Just because the leader of a movement is an idiot does not mean they are all wrong.

so being arrested makes a Bible teaching wrong?
by that logic I guess we have toss out the beliefs of every person who has been arrested. Do you think any evolutionists have ever been arrested?

Just because he didn't pay his taxes won't make me not believe in creation. He has not deceived anyone about creation.

I so agree with JohnsonWriter.....

No. They will claim that he is being persecuted for his beliefs. And they will blindly follow the next demented religious guru who comes along to take his place - and there will indeed be someone to take his place. There'll always be a sucker - and two to take him!
