Definitely let your mom know what's going on. I can tell you right now not a lot of people will support a relationship between a 31 year old and a 16 year old. That's way too much age difference not to mention the legal ramifications. Just be friends for now. If there's still something there when you get older then it will be different. Right now I wouldn't recommend it.

I have a 16 year old daughter so I'm just telling you what I would tell her, honestly. And please do communicate with your mom.

You should feel comfortable enough to tell your mother anything. I think you should tell her..You know her more than any of us know her so I'm pretty sure you know what her response would be. If you know that she is going to be upset about the situation than you should maybe tell her while the two of you are out having a mother and daughter day, maybe tell her during lunch or something like that. Dont just come out and tell her, "Mom, I'm dating a 31 year old guy." Describe him to her, the way he treats you, the way you feel about him, let her know that you two dont have sex and then let her know that there is an age difference between the two of you. Or maybe you can first ask her how she would feel if you were dating a 20 year old, 25 year old, 31 year old. No matter how you decide to tell her just know that she should know. If he's a family friend than she may be upset and .....

What you are doing isn't the brightest thing to do, not to mention it could make both of your lives hell. You are going to have to tell your mom at some point, unless you plan on keeping it a secret until you are 18. Just don't be surprised if your mom is upset, angry, and reacts badly - she has every right to. The fact you are a minor child and you are dating a guy that is closer to your mom's age than your own is reason enough for her to ask you to cut it off.
Another thing you mentioned is that you went after him - why would a young girl with her life ahead of her want to date a guy over 30? Sounds like there might be some underlying issues with that - many girls who don't have active fathers in their lives (or no dad at all) tend to date older men.

You can put any kind of spin on this you like, but the fact remains he is twice your age. I'm 30, and I wouldn't even consider it for a second. If you tell your mom, do you think she'll BELIEVE your not having sex? She's gonna call the cops and this guy is going to jail! It is awful naive of you to just sit there and say all this and not even consider the consequences. Come on! At least wait until your 18!

For get it girl. Find someone your age. That big of an age difference is a bit scary. If I were him I'd be afraid of you hollering rape. It's your word vs his. Hard to prove. For your safety think about it. What does he want?
As for letting your Mom know what is going on you better be out of the kitchen and be ready for an ear full.

You should tell your mom. But be prepared she may not be happy with you seeing someone that is 31 even if nothing is going on... To be honest I do not know whaat a 16 year old has in common with someone 31 but hey that is me.

I think you should let your mom know. If she doesn't agree but you know that you and your BF are compatible (you understand each other), then point it out to her, but not to the point of making her mad. If it's okay with her, then the better.
About the sex thing, if you're not ready, then don't pressure yourself. Sex is not something to hurry about. For me, it's a marital thing.
Good luck=)

Yes, tell your mother. She still has rights as a legal guardian until youre 18, by the way, if he turns out to be some nutjob, at least your mom will know who to look for.

Its okay to have a bf eventhough your young and hes old...age doesnt matter anyway what really matters there is that you like each other..

Just like me my husband is 30 years older than me,it doesnt matter how old he was..i just want to live and be with him for the rest of my life...

And its okay if you tell your mom..but normally happens your mom doesnt like him but who cares as long as you like him nobody can change that even your mom..

Love conquers everything..hope it helps you..Goodluck and God bless..
