I went to take my little son coco and my daughter cocoa,to school. When i got there,I notice some big changes. The school was over crowded,The books are in spanish, and they were all talking in spanish.I was in shock, I felt as if i was in the wrong school,I past down through the luch room and seen they were starting to prepare burritos for luch time.I decide to talk to the teachers,to see what was going on,she explain to me, they are new illegal immigrants victims, from another country that needed our help, and that the school will change everything just so they could feel at home.

I was amazed,I though to my self this is wrong,I dint want to offend the teacher as she was so happy,I told her in a slowly voice,i am sorry but my coco and cocoa, won't understand them,it will not be fair for them.she said,You have two choice they learn spanish or paid for them home schooling,I was so mad.I had to take my coco and cocoa out of their schools,What can i do? Why did they change the language? If they want to feel at home, what are they doing here? Were would my coco and cocoa study now?

First of all, your kids' names are Coco and Cocoa? I would homeschool to avoid the ridicule they'll probably receive. Kids are brutal!

There are U.S. relocation programs, where refugees are assigned to certain areas to live. They may not be illegal; they may be legitimate refugees. Your children would benefit from learning Spanish. I don't understand why learning only one language is BETTER than being a multilingual person. Plus, you're teaching your kids racism by pulling them out of a culturally diverse group. They have to learn to get along with other cultures, because we live more and more in a global economy.

I know you were trying to be creative with your example, but please don't..
as for the question.. our schools will loosen their restrictions and lower their standards only as long as we allow it. You don't want that to happen? Go to board meetings and voice your opinion.. go to PTA meetings and voice your opinion. Visit the superintendent, principle.. headmaster.. whoever.. and voice your opinion.. be loud if you must.. write a letter to the editor of your newspaper if you must.. pass around a petition if you must.. but don't stand by and allow such a stupid thing to happen.. it is not only your RIGHT to have a say in the running of things.. but it is your RESPONSIBILITY! You are the only advocate your children have. It is your responsibility to make certain they have the very best education opportunities possible.
I left California because there were SO many illegals overrunning the schools that the standards were lowered to THEIR level instead of expecting THEM to work harder to reach the school's standards.. I would not allow my child to be cheated that way. Now it is your turn.

this is a stupid invented story. in schools with a high ell (english language learner) population, there are bilingual classes, but those classes are only for children who don't yet speak english. those children will move into all english classes within a year or two, when their english skills are up to par. i'm sure there are bilingual classes where english speaking students learn spanish, but their parents selected to put their children in those classes.

apparently they didn't teach english at the school you went to, either.

and what do you have against burritos?

coco and cocoa?? those names are too similar. anyway, i suggest you pay for spanish lessons. it's cheaper than home schooling, and they can still be around other kids. it's wrong they changed the language, but all you can do is deal with it and step forward.

i would find out when the next school board meeting is and complain about this situation. this is something that should be left up to the parents. that is a huge change to what the standards most schools have. i would think if you and other parents that feel the same way were to band together and complain there should be something done about it. my guess is you aren't alone in your anger. if anything find out where the next nearest school is and enroll your kids there.

I like your stories, they're cute and they're a break from the monotonous. I have been accused of being you, you know. Anyone with a brain can see we have completely different writing styles! There are too many dumbasses in here.

unless your poor...then you suck.
and your kids should hate you.

their are also a few camps opening up, that are sponcered by the adminstration for educating kids....it called....

i think the Reagan Youth Camps.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. English is obviously not your first language, so why are you trying to pretend? You know you don't speak english, that's evident from your typing.

Public schools in the US cannot do that, so you're either making this up or misunderstood what was going on.
