It is easy to say but hard to do. I have had some things that I've had to consciously let go and leave up to the God and Goddess, and it honestly helped.
I did it by a combination of grounding my worry, and saying a prayer of acknowledgment to the God/dess that they would take care of the situation as They saw fit.

HollaLand,
Prayer would be a good start. It will set you in the prescence of God and establish the line of communication necessary for you to remember to stick to something.
You then tell Him about your concerns, have scripture backing up your plan of trust. Since you didn't say what the problem was, here is a generic sort of promise:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Don't forget to tell Him about the fact that you are trusting Him with whatever you thing is.
Remind yourself about it occasionally during your day.
When you still feel troubled, quote the verse to Him. I got that out of Psalm 46:1 .
Know that He will help you.
Do you know what Amen is?
It's a state of mind. "No Doubt."
Quote the verse and end with Amen, no doubt.
You can trust Him, HollaLand.

Prayer is the key...When you have exhausted your resource and see that there is no other alternative..that generally means it is time to let go...letting go is praying about it and watching in which way God begins to open doors...and even if it seems like you are about to lose it all...know that in him He has everything you need..and can give you a new thing...sometimes these things happen because God is trying to get you out of that situation anyway...sometimes he has a better thing for you..but he can't give it to you or get it to you as long as you have the current thing...
Remember he has the cattle on the thousand hills and can supply the need...you just need to be led of the spirit of God...
I have been in situations where I was renting a house for so much and...the rent seemed to be to much...since no matter what I was doing it seemed I couldn't save it...well we end up leaving the house ..and had to wait ..till God opened the door to be where we are now..the price of the rent is higher.....you see we needed to be out of that house anyway..it was to small..and where we are now ..there is greater potential to witness to souls..something I did not have at the other place..all of our neighbors were Christians...so it seems that there was a duel purpose for being moved..God moved for us to be here I have to recognize that now that i'm here ..I will seek his purpose..for witnessing..God bless

YES prayer. The Bible plainly says" Cast all your cares upon HIM for he careth for you.
I once found myself in a very difficult situation. I was facing a long term in prison for something I did not do. I prayed only to God, .Everyone else had turned against me.
Today, I write this A FREE!!! MAN.
Enough Said!

Why leave stuff up to an unknown, unseen, uncontrollable, unproveable fairy tale? Take control of your own life. Make your own decisions. Make things better instead of trying to shove all your problems onto a religion and saying "it must be God's plan" when something goes wrong.

You can relinquish something to someone to the degree that you trust Him. The best way to get to know God is through His word (the Bible) and through spending time with Him in prayer.
As time goes on and you see the evidences of God working in your life, it will be easier to "leave stuff up to HIm."

Yup. It's tough sometimes.
-Tell Him of your concerns.
-Ask that His will be accomplished in your life.
-Do your best, as you feel lead, yourself.
He will handle the rest.
I'll never forget walking down the street, freshly unemployed, and telling Him, "This one's all yours because I haven't a clue what to do next."
I took some training and did some consulting work for awhile but, soon, was blessed with a job at double the salary. Praise God!

With or w/o God, there are some things we can change and some we can't. When someone wrongs us, they are taking control away from us over that little part of our life. We can't change that, but we have complete control over how we deal with it. When we continue to dwell on that event, then that person continues to have control over us. You have to take back the control by not letting the person have any effect on your life, including in your thoughts and feeling regarding that event.
You do not want that person to have any control over your life, so you have to let it go. Otherwise, you are only letting them continue to hurt you.

It's always gonna be hard. And there's no straightforward way to do it. I guess just tell him you're handing it over to him, and for the next 24 hours, if you start to think about it just try to catch yourself and think of something else. then just keep praying, and remember to listen for Him, take time to be alone, turn off your phone and other distractions and just be availible for him to speak to you. God tends to work more in small, gentle ways than in mega huge phenomenal miracles.

You ask how, and I ask why. God does not exist, but some preachers and Christians will tell you what this nonexistent deity wants from you. Just don't give them any money. If such a deity did exist, he couldn't care less what you do and would not need your money.
