Kids, I am 59 years old and a female. I think it is disgusting to be honest. What in the world would a man or a woman have in common with someone so much younger other than to be a parent? I just asked my 59 year old husband the same question and he said, "no way" would that be remotely interesting to him. I think perhaps you dad is trying to "save his youth" by having a much younger woman on his arm. I doubt seriously if he will find much in common with her after a while. Sorry you are going through this.

That would be a big obstacle to get over, it depends I guess on whether he was a young father or not (how much older than you is he?)
If my father was to date someone my age there would be a 32 year age gap and really that's huge, I'm all for love winning out no matter the obstacles but 32 years is a hell of a hurdle. It also depends on you relationship with your father on how hard this could be to accept. I believe my father has lived a hard life and has often received the short end of the stick so I believe he deserves what happiness he finds in life. Although there's a fine line between being happy and being a dirty old man.

i try to say age doesnt matter, but I think I would have a hard time with my dad dating someone my age or younger.... I mean... at first it would probably bother me, but if they truely loved each other, and over time, im sure i would come to accept it and be happy for them.

But at first, it would be totally weird.

Ages today are irrelavent. If you found an older man attractive and he was good looking, had an excellent personality,a sense of humor, was outgoing and made you feel good, would you go out with him? Tell your dad to have a good time.I'm sure he would appreciate your support.

He must be rich because i see no other reason a young person would date a 60 y/o can't be love for they wont have that long to love them.

Hey, whatever floats his boat, as long as the girl is over 18. I say this because it doesn't bother me whatsoever. Now if that girl was 15 or 12, then I'd DEFINITELY start going crazy.

my father is dating someone not much older than me. i am not super comfy about it, but, i think he genuinely cares for her, and he has been a better father since being with her, so i try to understand.

it depends on a lot. if she is a nice lady and looks after your father and it's obvious she loves him to bits and they are both happy then yes. also it depends on how she treats you too. if she is nice and respectful of you then yes...if not then no.

If he were truely happy and she treated him well then yes I could accept it. I would never call her mom though.
