Just be nice she is old and tired. Give her a break if you do not like what she say please just leave.

Some people just seem to like one gender over another as they perceive them to be more intelligent. Don't get mad at her over it, just prove her wrong by being the best person you can be. If she really thinks you have a brother, let it go. Even better, tell her he would probably make a great doctor, and maybe someday she would be able to go to him for her health! Make a game of it, have "brother" discussions with her, see what she says. Humor can sometimes go a long way, and it may get her to stop. She may be doing it to get to you or to motivate you - some older people are kind of senile and will drive you batty if you let them. My (now deceased) mother-in-law used to tell my daughter and I that we were either too thin or that we needed to lose weight, we were never right in her eyes. My hubby and son were always perfect regardless of their weight. I was also told I was a great daughter in law even if I was not catholic, and she would tell people all her children-in-law were wonderful - even me (there were 3 of us but I was the only one ever singled out - and the others were men). She had lots of other digs as well, and it was very difficult for my daughter especially, as she loved her grandmother no matter what. Hang in there, don't be angry, it will not do any good about the situation and will only cause you more stress (which could form into ulcers or worse for you). Let it go and chalk it up to a person who just does not get it. Best wishes!
